Cute restaurant with a nice vibe and good service. The cashier was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I ordered Volcano Burger meal, butterfly shrimps, and guava cake. The burger was flavorful and delicious but the biggest drawback is that it’s so messy. They put a lot of sauce to the point and the bottom bun was soaked and the entire burger couldn’t hold its shape while picking it up. I don’t know how to properly eat this burger without fork and knife. Definitely not a place to take your date here. The macaroni salad was ok but not special for me. The butterfly shrimps sadly were fried in old oil and you can tell from the color. Although, they are generous with the portion. Guava cake was moist and tastes good but a tiny bit too sweet for my liking. Overall, this is a decent Hawaiian place and I don’t mind coming back here again

I had a great experience here today. This restaurant offers a great product with good portions of their food. The service was good. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant itself is a little rundown, but it is clean. Overall, this place is worth trying.

Super good. The new beef tallow fries are next level—light, salty, crispy! Fun atmosphere especially when it’s cold out. The Mac salad was better than another place we frequent. Highly recommend.

Placed an order on DoorDash for pickup, my man went in and he wasn’t greeted at all. The boy in the front counter just said “DoorDash?” and after confirming the boy just placed the food on the counter. My man said “Thank you” and the kid didn’t say anything back. We are originally from Hawaii and for a place portraying Hawaiian/Polynesian food and culture we sure didn’t feel the “Aloha Spirit”. Their customer service was severely lacking!
Then the food – we ordered the 2 meat combo plate with the garlic chicken and kalua pig, rice, mac, and sapa sui. Also, the Katsu with fries, guava cake, and mango otai. The otai and the guava cake were decent. The Katsu was cooked well, but lacked crunch. The garlic chicken and kalua pig were so dry and tasted bland. The Mac salad lacked flavor also, the sapa sui was just okay. Overall, just super disappointed in the food.
We’ve heard about them through reels claiming they were really good. We always try to support local, especially the poly community here in Utah but our experience just wasn’t the greatest. They claim to be serving “island love” but we just didn’t feel it, if you decide to try them, hopefully you have a better experience.

I love the salty pineapple. Their food is amazing and the people/service is astounding. All of the meals are fresh and made amazing, especially to add to your meal with their mac salad, guava cake and all of the flavored sodas they have to offer I would highly recommend trying out the salty pineapple.

I like this place a little better than Kokonut Island Grill, though the prices are similar.
The Pineapple Jalapeño Chicken is just so good and the coconut shrimp is better than shrimp at Kokonut.
We haven’t tried their burgers yet, but I want to get a Volcano Burger next time and I’ll update this review.
Their Guava cake is good but, if I remember right, I like the Lava cake at Kokonut a little better.
I wouldn’t recommend the Musubi. I usually like it, but I’m used to the rice and spam being slightly crispy. This musubi is wrapped in plastic which makes it a little less appetizing.
I love that they serve Dole Whip here too. And next time I’ll get a Mango Otai float with my burger. It sounds so good.
The restaurant is always clean and I like the smaller hole-in-the-wall type feel compared to Hawaiin restaurant chains. It’s definitely better than Mo’ Bettah’s and Rumbi’s.
Update:
We went back to try their sandwiches and we’re not deeply impressed, though we did enjoy the food. If you get the Spicy Katsu Sandwich, have them sub plain cabbage instead of the slaw because there was way too much mayo. We also added Sriracha onto our sandwiches because we felt they weren’t spicy enough. The pickled jalapeños on the Volcano Burger were great, though. The fries were great; they just needed more salt.
I still like that they have so many options here and I prefer supporting local businesses over settling for Mo’ Bettah’s.

Brenna was super helpful giving me ideas about the menu and professional recommendations. I did the drive through, but just looking into the Restaurant gave a tropical feel. The food itself was phenomenal. Cooked fresh and everything I wanted it to be. Coconut shrimp was crispy and packed full of flavor, but the bbq jalapeño chicken was the star of the show. An absolute must when you come. After I took one bite of the chicken I forgot to take a picture because I enjoyed it too much. Also, pricing is hard to beat and the serving sizes are ENORMOUS

I ordered the Three Meat with Pop’s Sweet Garlic Chicken, Katsu Chicken, and Coconut Shrimp, with White Rice and Polynesian Macaroni Salad. The number of meats you order doesn’t change the amount of food you’ll get; one meat just means a bigger heaping of your selection. Pop’s Sweet is the best thing on the menu. Ask for extra sweet garlic sauce. The katsu chicken is also pretty good, and the sauce is more tangy than the competition. The coconut shrimp is fine, but it’s not worth the upcharge. The rice is as bland as every Hawaiian restaurant, but the mac salad is the best I’ve had. I love that they include a wedge of pineapple in the plate. It’s a fun calling card that adds a little extra. I’m very curious to give the Guava Cake a try.
The crew at Salty Pineapple are all chill and friendly. They match the vibe you’d hope for and expect out of a Hawaiian restaurant. If you’re hard of hearing (like me), you might need to ask the cashier to speak up a little, because they can be a bit soft spoken.
The vibe of this place is great. I love the surf-themed Hawaiian aesthetic. Just brace yourself, some of the chairs create a heavy screech when they move across the floor. It’s a conversation stopper when it happens. But it’s a cool place, and the food truck is also excellent if you ever have the opportunity to order food from it.
The Salty Pineapple is my favorite Hawaiian restaurant in Utah, including its biggest rival chain. I’ll continue to be a regular customer.
