Response to Toms: tell me you didnt read the review correctly without TELLING me you didnt read the review correctly. I literally said the Salad bar was semi-good, you went on to insult “me” on the one things I said was semi good, for messing up the combination of foods that YOU provided lol cant really mess a salad bar up, but the potato soup tasted like the broth was the very water you would boil potatoes in before peeling them. Tasted like brown potato peels.
“Never recieved complaints such as this…”
Lies. Please see review from 2 weeks ago, “the food was nasty as ever, no flavor no taste”
Please see ADDITIONAL review in which an unhappy customer was “dismissed by the manager” and chicken was hard. Lets not forget the MAIN description under this restaurant CLEARLY says, OTHER REVIEWS MENTION THE FOOD CAN BE INCONSISTENT.
NOT mentioned in my 1st review was that my daughter added a side of potato soup w her dinner. I ordered a dinner that included the salad bar, which means I was already paying for a bowl of soup with mine. When we first arrived, I explained to the waitress this was our first time being there, we’d need a few to look over the entire menu. I got a bowl of potato soup from the salad bar for myself and showed it to my daughter, knowing she ordered a bowl for herself. By the end of the meal, her side of soup never came and I kindly asked the waitress to take it off the ticket since she never got it. She explained to me that it was a self serve, and that my daughter was supposed to go get her own “side” of soup from the Salad bar. Now how the hell would I have known that!? If I had not ordered the Salad bar for myself I wouldn’t have even KNOWN the soup was located there!! Smh…do better.
Would I go out of my way to eat here? No. Would I turn it down if I was in the area? No. Reasonable food at a reasonable price.
There are a few complaints though. We were a party of 5, (3) adults and (2) 12 year olds, and we were seated in the section with the extended tables across from the bathroom today. Our waiter, I don’t remember his name, but he had a long pony tailed pulled tight, and a facial hair. He started off nice but it completely went left field quickly with this waiter.
First, one of our friends wanted a tea at first, and then told him never mind, he actually wanted a beer and said nevermind to the tea. The waiter goes, “of course you want a beer,” in a very condescending tone. We brushed it off and resumes ordering all our drinks.
When he came back to take our order, my twelve year old niece wanted to order the cajun chicken alfredo. We explained to her what the Cajun part was (spices) and she said she didn’t want it. During this time the waiter interrupted us as we were about to tell him to not add the Cajun seasoning to it, and he says in the most rudest way, “you need to communicate this with me.” The silence that followed after that was awkward. And if we weren’t so hungry, we probably would have left. We gave him the rest of the order. And he didn’t come back for awhile.
We ended up getting a new waitress, also didn’t catch her name and she was wonderful. But the initial waiter just made this a bad experience. Between the attitude, and neglecting our table to he could clean his section. He just made this such an unwelcoming environment, as if we were beneath being in the restaurant at all.
On top of that, a friend of ours ordered a ribeye, which isn’t cheap there. It was chewy and just not worth the price. My husband ordered the lasagna and it was 70% sauce. The side of macaroni my daughter ordered had absolutely no seasonings either. Everyone just ended up filling up on soup and salad, which both were wonderful by the way!
My meal was fine and my nieces meal was fine. But the food was inconsistent, and between that and the rude waiter. We have no plans to return here, and it’s not because of the food. My husband and I are former servers/bar backs. We will eat inconsistent food as it happens, and we don’t want to cause trouble unless it’s absolutely inedible. But you can’t have inconsistency and horrible customer service. I would highly suggest telling that pompous waiter we initially had to go buy a personality and lose the attitude when it comes to pay patrons.
