Most favorite seafood restaurant now. I had the Calamari appetizer. It wasn’t like any other. Instead of being stringy and tough, it was very lightly battered, tender, nice size pieces, and tasty.

My entree was the “Steamers”(clams) and clam chowder. Chowder was one of the best I ever had. The Clams were the best I ever had, they have I believe a white wine, garlic, and butter sauce. That sauce was a party in my mouth, I was dipping my garlic bread in it, couldn’t get enough.

My wife enjoyed her fried clams and my son enjoyed his burger.

Our server was a super cool and nice man, I believe his name was Adolph. He made our experience feel like home.

I also appreciated they had a small sign inside that said “thank you for supporting a black owned business”. I appreciate supporting that, I believe there is a lot of racism and prejudice in this world, it’s ridiculous and ungodly. These are good people here.

Thank you

Parents owned this during the world’s fair. So go back often. New owners are great. Food menu. My pesto salmon sandwich, excellent, my cousin’s cod tacos, very good. My sister’s fish sandwich was kinda small, dry and kid sized!

Food and service were super good. I love the location with a few parking spots available on site. Most of the time I come across the Ballard locks, it’s great to take the fish and chips to go to the park. Points only deducted from the restaurant being a little dirty. But it kinda also has a dive-bat feel inside so I guess a little grime is acceptable. Also my ketchup seemed a little fermented…. But otherwise I really love this place especially the to-go window

We randomly stopped by here for dinner after a visit to Golden Gardens Beach on a Wednesday night. There were a only a few table taken so we got seated right away. The service was exceptional for out entire meal. The spinach artichoke crab dip and seafood linguine were great, but the star of the show was surprisingly the “Our Favorite Salad”. I will be going back just for that alone.

There are 3 free parking spots out front, but if those are taken you’ll have to find something on the street or in the adjacent paid lot, but it should only be a few dollars.

The restaurant is black woman owned which was a nice bonus.

Quick and easy dinner at the Lockspot cafe. We had burgers, fish and chips and fish tacos! Very yummy! Only complaint was the fries that were way overcooked but it was a perfect summer evening to eat outside at the picnic table.

Three of us had dinner there. The meals were good and the service was excellent. We had : plate of three fried cod tacos, the Fire-in-the-hole burger and the Pesto Salmon Sandwich.
The prices were reasonable and the ambiance was good.

I had a wonderful time at the lock spot! The food, the server, the ambiance were all amazing!!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better server J.R. He was very polite, knowledgeable, attentive and all around made my experience at the lock spot!

As for the food, I was surprised at how inexpensive everything was compared to other places nearby in Ballard. I ordered their fish and chips with a cocktail and I was stuffffed. The fish was breaded and seasoned to perfection and they give you super big portions too! I will definitely be coming back.

We came in the Sunday after Valentine’s Day. We were able to get one of the handful of parking spots that are right in front of the restaurant and I think there were more spots along the side of the place but they were full. We were seated and offered drinks by the bartender relatively quickly after we arrived. I ordered a bloody Ballard (bloody Mary), side salad with Bleu cheese dressing, cup of chowder which came with garlic bread and a side of fries which came with tartar. The sauces were very good. I’m picky about my dressings and these were awesome! The chowder tasted like how a chowder should taste. Not too thick, not runny, seasoned just right and piping hot. Salad greens were crisp and fresh. The fries were my favorite. They were nice and crispy with a soft interior. My partner had a Maritime beer, and the shrimp appetizer with garlic bread. Their garlic bread is fantastic and I could literally bathe in the juices they cooked that shrimp in. I’d consider that more of an entree than an appetizer. All the food was delicious. Don’t let the weathered look of the place deter you. Like their sign says; the food is slappin!

Post-choir practice came for a beer with some mates.
Discovered they served Metier, which is a black-owned brewery in the Central District of Seattle. They make good brews. Tried a hazy that was brisk.
Also had a slice of their key lime pie ($4.75) and the French Dip which was well packed with beef and mushrooms. Fries were perfect.

They have the respect and compassion of a Senior menu and Kids menu. Very cool. It’s an institution that has been around for over 100 years. Right at the corner before you enter the Ballard Locks. In the summer and fall the outdoor seating is fantastic. Lots of neighbors wandered by with their dogs and it’s easy to eat with kids and pets outside. It’s next to the climbing gym so it’s tempting to park in their lot but don’t do it. However the parking that’s available when the locks close is free game.
