The food and drink were delicious, but the price was high and the amount was small. In addition, there was no air conditioner.
It is hot inside. The server was very friendly.
However, she kept asking that what I needed.
I already told her I was very full.
Maybe she forgot or got more tips for selling foods deliberately.
Her name was Ariel. But her serve was great.

If you’re looking for a true Lake Lanier experience, Pelican Pete’s Bar & Grill is one of those places that perfectly captures the laid-back lake lifestyle. Located at Port Royale Marina, it’s actually Lake Lanier’s only floating tiki bar and restaurant, which immediately gives it a fun, vacation-style vibe the moment you arrive.

You’re paying for the location and experience, so prices run a little higher than a typical bar & grill.

Pelican Pete’s isn’t just about the food — it’s about the experience. If you want cold drinks, lake views, live music, and a fun social vibe, it’s one of the best casual hangouts on Lake Lanier.

We arrived by boat, parking was easy. Hostess was adorable. Sabrina was our server and was excellent. Our four top was right along the water so it was fun people and boat watching. We ordered drinks and the calamari app. Delicious. I had the bowl with salmon. Lots of food! Bathroom was very clean. This is a dog friendly spot.

We went here today for the first time and while there was a bit of a wait in the kitchen but we had the nicest server and the food was worth waiting for. While we waited and ate there was a really cool and nice guy hosting free Trivia. We had a lot of fun. We had the fish and chips and they also had malt vinegar upon our request. They also had lots of nice non alcoholic beverage options, which we really appreciated. I can’t wait for us to come back in the future on a trivia night. It was a blast. Would be cool to check out the live music here sometime also. This place is a hidden gem.

The tavern food was good enough. The service could be better, but he was friendly and serving multiple tables. The view to the lake is a given.

We came here on our first night in GA. It sits right on Lake Lanier so pretty much were ever you get sat you can see the lake. Our server was great and the atmosphere was so relaxing. Their sweet tea was amazing as well as their other drinks. I got their coconut shrimp and it was amazing. My husband had gotten their hot chicken sandwich which was delicious as well. My kids had their chicken and mac and cheese. All of it was wonderful. Would definitely come back when visiting.

This is a very friendly environment to go for a Saturday afternoon lunch. It’s even dog friendly, and when we were there, there were several people who had their dogs with them. The servers would bring water for the dogs as well as a welcome for them along with the drink service for the human guests. The decor is nautical in Fame as you would expect at a marina. There are plenty of tables, and there was room in between the tables to walk so you didn’t feel cramped even though every table was filled with people eating lunch.

Sitting out on the lakefront to enjoy your meal is a great way to spend the afternoon. We were quickly seated where we were able to see the boats on the lake on the sunny afternoon day. Servers were quick and attentive and very cheerful.

For the food, don’t expect a gourmet dinner. You’re going to a tiki bar and grill. The key word is you’re going to have bar food. If you look at the menu, it’s the things you can expect to find at a bar and grill. Fish tacos, burgers, fish and chips, nachos, etc.

I’ve eaten here before and had the fish tacos, which were excellent the first time I had them. But, the second time, they weren’t quite as good, so this time, we chose a dock burger and grilled chicken sandwich.

The Great Dock Burger had caramelized onions that were delicious and gave it an umami sweetness to the double patties on the brioche bun. Makes a thick sandwich but not so thick that you can’t put it in your mouth. I would advise cutting it in half, which makes it easier to handle. The ample fries accompanying both dishes, as you can see from the picture. I wish there was an option to have a ketchup bottle since there was not enough for the generous fries. I used most of my first one for my burger. There’s an option to add bacon, I would advise adding the bacon that complement the flavor of the burger quite well.

The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was juicy and had great flavor with the accompanied bacon and avocado toppings. It said it was on a sourdough bread, but it seemed more like a Texas toast instead of sourdough. With that said, it was delicious and filling.

Overall, this is a chill place with a great view and good food. Take your time, unwind, and enjoy the day, as you watch the boats on the lake come into the harbor.

The winter hours or weekends only, so check the schedule before you go. And don’t forget trivia every Sunday night at 6 PM

A tight menu that has options can be hard, but they have it pretty well dialed in here. Most everyone can find something and it helps keep the kitchen on top of quality and speed.

The French Fries are outstanding. I ended up telling others that if they wanted Fries they need to order them, LOL.

Calamari, Shrimp PO Boy, Fish n Chips, Dock Burger, and Port Royale Burger were all enthusiastically endorsed!

The staff here are top notch! Our waitress Karigen was so attentive, so nice and had a great personality. Also, any other staff member we came across were very friendly and helpful. This could quite possibly be our favorite hangout place for food, drinks and entertainment!
