Hilton referred us. Said they have a variety of food.
First walked in the greeter was very pleasant and friendly. Usually, the greeter gives us the menu and asks what we would like to drink. Not here. The greeter seats you and gives you the menu. We sat 20 minutes before motioning to one of the servers that walked by our empty table a few times. We were not rude but, she came to our table and said, “What?” Not how can I help you but, What? We told her we would like to order and she got our server. He was friendly and before we could get a bite, he asked how it was. We both nodded due to, having a mouth full. I ordered the salmon bowl with rice and veggies, he ordered the meat loaf. Salmon was the only thing hot but, it was dry. The rice, cabbage, carrots, broccoli were cold and the rice was cold and dry. I even had a piece of pasta on my plate? Meatloaf had to be cut with a steak knife because it was burnt on the outside. He said the rest tasted like it was frozen and not heated up thoroughly. As we were standing up to go pay our bill, they asked if we wanted a box. I said absolutely not. It was horrible. Our server got the manager which only charged us for the Scotch and water. As we explained to the manager what happened, we noticed there were 3 people sitting in the booth behind us folding silverware into napkins. As we were leaving, we could hear them making fun of our complaints. We are from Iowa and stopped here coming back from Washington. I’m 58 and my husband is 68. Never in our lives have we had such poor service and then to be mad fun of on our way out? This area has signs everywhere regarding military veterans. My husband is an army vet and was disrespected. Go here on your own risk. I wish I had checked the reviews before we went because, we would have went somewhere else. I will from now on. Kudos to the older gentleman that knows service matters. As for the rest of you, do better or change your career choices

Staff was pretty nice, although seeing our waiter felt like a celebrity appearance. I ordered a Huckle Berry Iced Tea( which tasted like cough medicine). I then received my food. Well … The pasta was really good, but the chicken that came in the pasta looked as if it was left and forgotten on the grill. One side looked perfect the other looked like a dirty bottom to a nice clean shoe. Oh yeah, and just be ready to wait 45 minutes to an hour to get your food.

The food is very good but the service is lacking. It took a while, when we arrived before anyone acknowledged us. Wait staff would not look at us as they passed and no one would say anything or seat us. When we were seated and placed our order, it took almost an hour for a sandwich and small pizza. The restaurant was not even half full.

We visited one of these restaurants in South Dakota a few years ago and really enjoyed it, so we were excited to find one in Butte as we were passing through the state. All of our food was delicious, especially the chili and the huckleberry lemonade. Our server was great, and the decor of the restaurant was spot on.

We had the WORST experience possible at this McKenzie River! We visited for lunch two days ago and the restaurant was completely empty, yet it took 40 minutes for the kitchen to prepare a simple veggie burger and a pizza. To make matters worse, my burger was COMPLETELY BURNT—so hard that the first bite felt like eating chips. I called the manager, Nick, to report the issue, and a replacement burger arrived in under 10 minutes. So my question is—does food quality and service speed only improve once a customer complains? Our server also did a poor job. During the 40 minute wait, we were only checked on once, if that. Our drinks were empty and we had to search for the server ourselves just to get a refill. I truly hope someone in upper management sees this and takes action because the staff currently running this location are not keeping their customers happy with food or service.
