TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I recently placed an order online and it arrived in 15 minutes. To my surprise, the crumb was still crunchy and the tender was still moist. I’ve been to this place twice before, and I’ve always been impressed.
The honey that comes with the tender is a must-try. It’s savory and sweet at the same time, and it’s incredibly addictive. I also recommend trying the extra hot version. It’s manageable for native Asian people, but I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. It upset my stomach at night and the next day.
The service is great, and I’m happy that this place has gained a lot of customers, especially students. It’s a great place to hang out with friends. The strawberry milkshake is phenomenal. It’s not too sweet, which is a big plus.
Overall, I highly recommend this place. It’s a great place to eat, and the food is delicious.

OMG — the chicken was so hot I literally couldn’t finish it but it was delicious! The fries were perfectly crispy, the macaroni was super hot and fresh, and the strawberry Oreo shake was amazingly tasty.
Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Definitely worth it if you love spicy, crispy, delicious food!

Dave’s in Gainesville is solid all around. The food comes out hot and fast, the flavors actually hit, and the portions are filling without being over the top. The spice levels are legit, so pick carefully. Staff is friendly and keeps things moving even when it’s busy. Easy spot to grab a satisfying meal with friends, especially if you’re craving something bold and simple.

I thought Dave’s Hot Chicken was hype. But I had it once and thought, I could have this again, maybe in a month. Then I had it the next week. Then a few days later. Then again the following week. I’ve helped several other people have it for the first time. It’s so good. The heat, the spices. So good. So well seasoned. The chicken is cooked to perfection. Sauce is good. Adding honey brings it to perfection.

I’ve visited countless times, & not a single time has my food missed. It’s prepared very quickly & always perfectly cooked – very flavorful & even more juicy. The staff is always so pleasant. I swear Nat is always working, & she’s always patient & kind. Talking to Justin makes the time fly as I wait on my order. Everyone else has been great, & I’m sure I’ll be back countless times.
