Risotto my favourite, then insalata di polpo, calamari and gamberetti. Great wines, of course my advice is prosecco white sparkling wine.
Cafe and desserts on point. Animal friendly. Been already twice, cant wait to eat there again
We went there for fish and after finally choosing what we wanted to order, she basically told us that half of fish menu is not available.
While we were waiting for the menu, a gentleman (I assume manager because he was in a suit and definitely works there) decided that it is a good idea to sit not far from us and start to watch reels (tiktok or smth) on full loud volume. Like legit he did this and we barely could hear each other.
The food was average at best. We ordered lots of seafood appetizers; tuna steak; pastas; lamb, risotto and desserts. Nothing was wow and pasta with white fish was the worst.
Prices are on a higher end when it comes to food, but alcohol prices are okay.
I was solo in Rome in early November 2021 and I found this place on Google maps. I did the 35 euro dinner and was blown away.
Had a table on the street, perfect for people watching. It started to rain lightly and before I even knew it a large umbrella was in place. Service was silent but perfect, the timing of each dish impeccable.
Every course except dessert was seafood, and each was exceptional, from the seafood salad to the mussels and pasta to the oyster and shrimps. By the time the main course came I already felt like I’d gotten my money’s worth. And the main course was a stunner! That plate alone was almost worth the 35 euros, IMHO! Easily a $25-30 plate in an American restaurant.
The meal included dessert (lemon sorbet) and the menu said it came with a 1/4 liter of wine (about one big glass) but they gave me a whole bottle, no extra charge! And a bottle of still water, also no extra charge. I bought two after dinner drinks (Sambucas) and still got out for right around 50 euro (including tip).
Maybe I got lucky because it was right in the middle of COVID, but whatever it was, it was amazing. I feel silly that it took me this long to leave a review…
The salad was a mix straight out the bag on to a plate, no dressing, no tomato or cucumber, no olive oil, not even salt or pepper. Literally a plate with leaves on it. We got balsamico and olive oil on the side. All in all not a good experience and would not recommend to friends or family or anyone else for that matter. I was glad I had a late lunch and was not to hungry going into this meal. In this neighbourhood you can get way better food for half the price even tough this already was a low price for the amount of courses offered.
Didn’t think to take pictures untill we were ready to leave. Regret not taking pictures of every course.
This is the first review I have ever written as this was the first meal in my life that was this bad I can not keep it to myself…
