I’ve liked Big John since they came to Lansing, and the sandwiches have always been delicious. The restaurant is clean, although fairly spartan, and the staff was nice once they noticed a customer. This last time I just got the standard beef sandwich, and it was great. The red sauce really adds to the flavor, and it doesn’t detract from the meatiness. Being right off the highway, this is one of my fast go-to spots in the Lansing area.

First time to order from Big John Steak and Onion amd the food was fine. I ordered a 16 in Cheesesteak and the sub had a good amount of steak with grilled onions and little of cheese. The sub was soft and overall was classic and good.

food is usually pretty good. the price is a bit high but i understand inflation exists. the problem is i ordered a philly chicken sandwich and it was extremely salty. i picked most of the meat off and ate it cause i bought it. the thing is i usually love it 🙁 i also didn’t try it before leaving a review on doordash. so i couldn’t go back and let people know

Great location, always makes great sandwiches and fast. Also leaving a review because the guy behind me was super rude to an employee for basically no reason and I’m pretty sure he’s planning on leaving a bad review.

best damn steak cheese mushroom onion sub ever! i have been loving them for years.. and they are getting harder to find. I get the steak onions and mushrooms sub. I learned why their steak onion sub is so good! They use Ribeye meat! I suggest you buy an extra for later or the next day.. it’s that good. easy to gobble it all down! You absolutely have to try Big John if you are anywhere near one. wished i had one close to home!

I was traveling 9/29/2025..seen the big john sign…and decided to stop..light where turned down but the open sign was on..ordered my steak sandwich I wasn’t watching cause I was looking out the window the guy said ok thank you..grabbed my bag and jumped back on highway and got home opened bag and was instantly pissed off..you need to fire everyone who worked that shift plus the manager..here’s my big john sandwich
