Baked Cheese Haus at Bryant Park is a standout spot in the Winter Village for anyone who loves indulgent, melty cheese. Their raclette sandwiches are the highlight, with warm Alpine-style cheese scraped over fresh baguettes and often paired with pickles or onions for a perfect balance of flavors. The aroma of the melting cheese draws you in, and watching it being prepared adds to the experience. It can get busy, and the sandwiches are a bit pricey, but the combination of rich flavor, comforting warmth, and festive atmosphere makes it a memorable treat while exploring Bryant Park. It’s the kind of stop that’s as fun to experience as it is delicious.

Stopped by Raclette Street, a pop-up just around the corner from The Oculus Shopping Center, and it was such a fun food stop! The area has a few other small food stalls, so it feels like a mini street market vibe — perfect for grabbing something quick and flavorful.
We ordered the Alpine Cheesesteak and the Merquez Fondue Sandwich. Both were fantastic — cheesy, rich, and packed with flavor. The Alpine Cheesesteak had that perfect pull of melted raclette over tender beef, and the Merquez Fondue Sandwich stood out with its bold, spiced (lamb) sausage and creamy cheese mix.
Even though it was busy, the staff kept things moving and our order came out quickly. There’s no seating, so this is more of a grab-and-go or stand-and-eat kind of spot, but the food easily makes up for it.
If you’re near The Oculus and in the mood for something cheesy and indulgent, Raclette Street is a must-try. The quality and flavors are top-notch for a pop-up, and it’s a great find among the nearby food stalls.

Ever since I tried their sandwiches for the first time at Union Square about six years ago, I became a huge fan. I look forward to the Bryant Park Christmas market every year just to have them again. As their business has grown, the prices have gone up and the wait times have gotten longer, but I still really love and enjoy their sandwiches. I just think the staff’s efficiency could be improved a bit.

This place has become a yearly tradition ever since I discovered it a few years ago.
Flashback: I was strolling through the winter market when a smell hit me. At first, I turned my nose up, but then I realized it was familiar. Long-forgotten, even. My brain went on a memory hunt through childhood memories in France and… RACLETTE I followed the aroma and there it was: Baked Cheese Haus! I got in line and ordered their traditional baguette with spring onions. The bread alone is amazing, but the melty cheese? Absolute comfort. Ever since, I’ve made it a holiday ritual to stop by at least once every season.

Delicious cheese sandwiches. The lines are long but the wait isn’t terrible and it’s fun to watch. They’re large and filling, so if you’re looking to try a few things it’s best to share it

Tried the cured ham one at their stall in the Bryant Park Winter Village. The line was looong, and it took about 45 minutes to finally get the order. The staff was working as quick as possible though trying to keep up with the line.
The price of 18USD for a sandwich with just melted raclette didn’t cut it for me. They said it comes with gherkins, mustard and spring onions but they barely put anything in the baguette. Wasn’t worth the hype for me. It just looks tempting is all.

We go to NYC every late Fall and one of the first places I visit is the Baked Cheese Haus in Bryant park. I love their Jambon Cru sandwich. For the last 5 -6 years since I found the place they have been great. Sure the line is long and the wait is long but that’s part of the fun for me. Waiting, hoping my sandwich is next. The cheese doesn’t smell the best but it sure tastes the best. I’ll be visiting there in early December. I CAN’T WAIT!

Waited on line for longer than I’d care to admit to try this bad boy..
We got the jambon with all the toppings (green onion, gherkins, Dijon mustard). Honestly, way over hyped. The bread was fresh and hot cheese is hot cheese, but the ham was like one morsel and overall the sandwich was bland. It needed much more Dijon and the bread needed more crust/crunch. I give it a solid “meh.”

One of the stalls in Bryant park Christmas village. The wait is long but it goes by fast. Very cool watching them make the sandwiches. Got one with salami and all toppings. The bread is fresh. Soft on the inside and crunch on the outside. The cheese is melty. Great snack to get. My bf and I both enjoyed it. Got to eat it fast on a cold winter day thought because it does cool down fast.
