I tried the famous low country combo. I got the special Pierre 88 sauce, medium spicy. I really enjoyed the crab, shrimp, egg, and corn; they were great. The sausage and potatoes were alright; I don’t really care for them. 1/2 lb for $32 is not a bad price.
Hush puppies were fire, in my opinion.
My experience and taste/opinions might be different from yours, so take this review with a grain of salt. See my past reviews if you want to see the type of foods I have enjoyed.
Downfalls:
Music was terrible. More for a club.
Server was non existent. We had to ask another Server for silverware. Food was delivered and on fire. We couldn’t use our fingers on the king crab shells and whole potatoes.
There was a kid running around. Maybe 3 yrs old. An employees son. Climbing on tables. The staff was watching him more than the customers it felt like.
The service here is consistently great and very attentive. Food is delicious.
A few very tiny negatives: the water tastes funky to me so I stick to beer, no problem! The restrooms are also kind of iffy. I don’t mean to say this place is dirty by any means because it is quite clean and nice in the dining area and bar. This is just what I’ve noticed.
Definitely go and enjoy!!!
The lobby was packed and there was no hostess in sight for nearly 10 minutes. Meanwhile, something behind the counter was constantly beeping, and a phone or iPad was ringing nonstop. It felt disorganized and chaotic.
Once we were seated, it was one thing after another. The napkin holder on our table was dirty. We had to ask for condiments that should’ve already been there. Then my husband and daughter’s seafood boils arrived, with crab legs, but no cracking tools were provided. How does that even happen at a seafood restaurant?
My son ordered a calamari basket, and the calamari was so overcooked he may as well have been chewing on a tire.
The one redeeming part of the evening was our waitress, Gabriela. She was clearly stretched thin with way too many tables, but she stayed polite and did the best she could given the chaos around her.
Sadly, for what we paid, over $125 for five people (3 adults and 2 children) the quality of the food and the chaotic service simply didn’t match the price. Definitely not worth it.
We won’t be back. Do not eat here until they seriously get their act together, whenever that may be.
This place is new so it’s way cleaner. The bathroom is super clean but the place also doesn’t smell. Spring Mountain location smells like eggs sometimes, you know that gross sulfur smell.
Anyways, I hope this place stays consistent with portions and the atmosphere because it’s our new go to spot. We’ll even drive the extra time to come here even tho Spring Mountain is closer.
