Our first time at this establishment. While waiting for our food my daughter purchased a bottle drink. After taking a sip she noticed the expiration date was November 30, 2025. The young lady that waited on us had stepped in the back so I took a look at the other drinks so that we could get another one. ALL the drinks were expired. When the young lady came back out I told her about the drink. She proceeded to look through ALL the drinks passing over ALL the ones that were expired. She comes to the table and gives my daughter another drink; this drink had a white sticker that was covering the date. I already knew what that meant. Peeling off the white sticker that had 12-30-25 the real expiration date under that was 12-30-2024. I waited until my food was ready and kindly went back to speak with the young lady. I said this drink is a year old and that’s a shame. Supporting our own people and they do us any kind of way as well. She proceeded to tell me to get another drink and walks off to the back again leaving the customer that she was now waiting on. She was polite and soft spoken the whole time. I’m not speaking in a rude tone at all that’s not me. Right is right and I treat people the way that is right and pleasing to God. My daughter said Ma I haven’t got there yet as far as knowing how to gracefully speak and handle things that’s not right. I didn’t curse, get loud or anything as someone else surely would have done. I left the drink on the counter and left. I didn’t bother to speak to the guy because I know she told him the first time about the first drink because he came out and they were talking and looking in my direction. I’m sure he knew about the drinks. She didn’t even bother to take out the expired drinks. Let’s do better people. My First and Last time in this place.

I’ve been to a few of Island Cuisine’s different locations before, and this time I decided to give this one a try. I’m happy to say it absolutely lived up to the high standard I’ve come to expect!
I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantain, paired with their pineapple ginger juice. Every element of the meal was flavorful and satisfying. The jerk chicken was tender, smoky, and full of that bold, authentic Caribbean spice. The rice and peas were perfectly cooked and seasoned, the cabbage had just the right touch of flavor without being heavy, and the plantains were sweet and perfectly caramelized.
The pineapple ginger juice was the perfect drink to go with the meal; refreshing, with just the right balance of sweet and spicy. I truly enjoyed every bite and sip.
This location definitely holds its own, and I’ll be back again soon!

The goat curry and oxtail Mac and cheese are both amazing! Great flavor for both. Curry has a good spice to it. And the meats for both fall right off the bone! Will be back for sure 🙂 only thing is Mac and cheese itself was a bit oily

Service & Atmosphere is okay, but most important is the food. I ordered a Jerk chicken dinner. Chicken didn’t seem to be marinated or even season well. It just had hot jerk sauce pored over it. Not flavorful just hot. Rice and peas were dried out. Cabbage mix was wet soggy and blend. Yep. I’m looking for a new spot.

I come to this restaurant a lot cause I love the flavor. But they are so skimpy on food. I paid $31 for the oxtail dinner and a tea with extra gravy. I get home and it’s 4 pieces of oxtails.. one big piece with the biggest bone I ever seen with NO meat on it and 3 little pieces with no meat. I went around 730ish so idk if they gave me the bottom of the pot or what. But it’s insane how I got a bunch of gravy and no meat. When customers spend their hard earned money at your establishment we expect the Quality and the Quantity… I gotta find a new place cause this isn’t the first time but I was pissed off tonight!

For the Easter Holiday I went and ordered an Island Catch Platter which consists of fried bammy, fried green plantain, festival, peppered shrimp and escovitch fish which was amazing. The customer service there was outstanding. Ruth, Dejanay and Damian did an amazing job with making me feel welcomed and at home. I also must say splendid job to the Chef Mathias, everything tastes amazing. Definitely recommend this location!

Hidden gem, definitely! I was a bit nervous when the GPS brought me to the back door. But front entrance was much better. Parking lot and street parking available. Clean establishment. Very friendly and accommodating service. Worth the tip requested. Multiple vegan options. They couldn’t make the Ital stew but was happy with the Curry Tofu, rice and peas, and mixed vegetables. My friend ordered the Ackee & Saltfish and dumplings. Sorrell was on point. First-time guests receive a free punch. Delicious, like chuch punch! Gave me the boost I needed for the long drive. Great ambiance. And again…clean and friendly.

I must say the food is Excellent!!! I ordered the homemade Sorrel. It taste almost like my mother’s. Then I had the Jam Jam Shrimp….to die for. Compliments to the Chef. Reasonable prices. The only thing is I don’t like my food to touch so a plate that separates would be great. I am a Panamanian and I approve this message!

Everything about this particular location was overshadowed by how my mother was treated this evening. 2 nights ago my mom ordered from them & the rice was off. She was told that she would have to bring the food in with the receipt for a refund. I wasn’t able to take her there until today but when she spoke to the young woman she was told that she would only be able to receive a new cooked meal. That’s not what my mom wanted but she accepted. They made her wait for 20 + minutes while smiling a fake smile.
I’ve had no issues with any of their stores before but that woman has a serious problem. She’s very unprofessional. My mother is very respectful & usually makes her own curry chicken. She was just trying to give that location a try.

The service here was amazing! Ruth was very attentive and patient with me as it was my first time. She gave me some great recommendations that I truly enjoyed. Food was authentic and the restaurant was nice and clean. 10/10 will definitely be coming back.
