I really wanted to love this place because the pizza itself was actually delicious. Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t great due to a food safety issue.
While heading to the restroom, I noticed one of the staff members cutting pizzas in the area just outside the kitchen. She had her hair completely down and wasn’t wearing a hair net or hair tie. I didn’t think much of it at first, but when I sat down to eat, I found a hair in my second slice of pizza. Definitely not mine.
It was disappointing because the food tasted really good, but seeing the lack of proper food-handling practices and then finding a hair in my pizza made me lose trust in the cleanliness. I hope management takes this seriously, because with better food safety and hygiene, this place could be amazing.

My boyfriend and I love this style of pizza so we wanted to try this place! If you go during regular times it’s kind of pricey, but the pizza is really good and there are tons of options! We went during happy hour and that was the best decision ever. We had a couple pizzas to choose from and they were around $10 which was way more ideal for us! The service was awesome and the vibes are great and the pizza is super delicious! As pizza lovers, anytime we are back in Kansas City, we will probably stop by here if we get the chance!!

Delicious! We ordered two pizzas and a Caesar salad. The Carne pizza and the La Rughetta pizza (we added balsamic glaze and goat cheese). Here’s the run down, the crust was thin, but still had a soft chew, which was the perfect bite every time. The Carne pizza had plenty of meat with an excellent tomato sauce.This is a crowd pleasing pizza pie. I’m a sucker for prosciutto and goat cheese so when Hannah, our waitress, recommended adding the goat cheese and balsamic glaze to our pizza, I absolutely did. This was a smart move. The hubby and I opted to share the Caesar salad while we waited on the pizzas. The timing of the pizzas was perfect as we had just finished our salad. The staff was friendly and kept busy. Our drinks were refilled timely and they checked on us without being interruptive. Since yelp likes when we share tips, here’s one, they have an awesome happy hour menu with great pricing. Super excited, we found our pizza spot!

We flew into KS to visit and stayed downtown. After a short ride on the train and we were at Lazzarone (literally just feet from a stop) the place is nice and updated. We ordered 2 pizzas and a salad. We really enjoyed everything. Would definitely recommend

Hung out in the bar in the back and had a great time. This pizza is legit as we had the D.O.C. and it was very authentic and delicious. Salads were great too and they have a good happy hour. Can’t wait to come back and try the pizza Bianco.

We often see this place as we frequent Betty Raes, which is a few doors down. I’ve never been here until today. A group of 6 of us decided to grab lunch here. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server with cold waters. He was very helpful and informative. He made great suggestions. My husband and I ordered the Carne and Salissica Italaiana. They were both delicious and had great flavor. My husband’s carne crust was a bit charred, and that was his only disappointment with his, but otherwise, everything tasted great. Our server was very attentive to our drinks and made sure we had everything we needed.

Went to try this place out and got take out. The bartender was super nice. Got a drink and a pepperoni pizza. It was baked to perfection in their wood fire stone oven. Super crispy and perfect portion. It was very affordable and perfect personal size. It was 11 inch if I remembered correctly. I will definitely recommend this place and will definitely be coming back to try more items on their menu. Great experience

I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but I really really love this place and I really want it to be a five star. I love the location in the River market! The place has great energy and the staff genuinely seem to be happy working there. The only reason I can’t give it a five star on food is because the pizza is too soggy in the center. You can’t pick it up and eat it. At least this was the case the last two visits. I think either the crust needs to be just a bit thicker and/or baked longer.
The taste is absolutely delicious! The ingredients are fresh!
On service… It seems it’s a bit understaffed. The servers were great but they’re cutting pizza and hosting the front desk. So it’s a little slow to be seated and service can take a little bit longer than it should with the number of people in the restaurant at the time. Our salad was perfect! Drinks are great.
I will still keep going to this place because I absolutely love the pizza. I will ask next time for it to be baked longer and see how it goes. XOXO

This is a nice pleasant environment with a little rustic flare and a giant wood fired pizza oven on one side.
The service was good and food reasonably quick. (The pizzas only take something around 6 minutes to fully cook at the high temperature they run.)
Everything I have had there has been delicious.
The only caveat is that they tend to be pretty small and lightly topped, and fairly pricey for the small portion sizes – I might suggest going during a special.
That aside, definitely worth trying for a special occasion.
