My mom found Skrimp Shack on Facebook as we were figuring out where to go while vacationing here in Virginia. The place has a very relaxed atmosphere and the service is very down-to-earth.
My mom and I had had the box which contained a combo of fried fish and shrimp, fries, and cornbread; in addition, we also ordered sweet teas, cheesecake (with no berries) and a ‘nana pudding (banana pudding) my grandmother just had the fish. The meal was really delicious and quite fresh and the sweet tea was excellent! My mom and I haven’t tried our desserts yet but overall we will definitely come back to the Skrimp Shack!

Cause miss with eating here! At least my 5x coming and never disappointed, except the cornbread not being warm or hot. Not sure if that’s intended but couple occasions it’s was cold, not warm at all but nothing major nor does it take away from the quality of the food! Fish, whiting, flounder, catfish, SKRIMP, Po boy… all hit! Definitely 4.5 stars and up!

Love this place and the young lady that runs the counter is super special. I don’t even know her but she’s been there at this location for as long as I’ve been going. And she knows everyone that comes through the door. Good spirits and vibes. I just wanted to give her her flowers for her service and the job she does to keep this store running. Give her a raise!!!. Good eats btw. Fresh always. A good spot to eat! Great customer service hands down.!

It was a much better experience than most quick and easy fast food places. I’ve gone to the customers were happy in the store and the staff seem to be interacting and generally concerned with their customers. Food was great

I was definitely impressed with this place! Way more than I expected when I walked in! The soft shell crab sandwiches my wife and I had were delicious, and unexpectedly came with 2 crabs each! My daughters both got the kid’s shrimp, one fried the other grilled. I fully expected to get maybe 3 or 4 shrimp each, they each got 10! I would definitely come back next time I come through this area! HIGHLY recommend!

I used to love shrimp and crab po’ boy but I won’t make that mistake again. Almost half the sandwich was nothing but bread. I expect a little more from the $13 sandwich. Also bought my daughter the kids grilled chicken sandwich and it had what looked like about half of a tender on it. My son’s full size Fried Chicken Sandwich had two tenders at least but they weren’t big. And then $4.50 to add on a few fries and a regular size drink. There is better food out there for a better price for sure

We were excited to have Skrimp Shack again since we recently moved back to the area from out of state. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. We ordered online for pickup using the Skrimp Shack app and ordered a small family bundle with an extra side of collards and potato salad. When we brought our food home we noticed that we had Mac n cheese instead of collards and no fries. Too far to drive back and have our food be colder, we notified via the app of the problem. The only quality complaint we have is that the grease must not have been hot enough for the hush puppies as you can see the grease soaked into the dough before frying it. I think in the future we will try a different location. I remember when this location used to be packed on a Saturday night to the point there was a line out the door. Maybe there’s a reason this is no longer the case, IDK.

I’ve went to this location several times. We normally order the same thing each time. The Family Big Cat (3lbs). Today it was extremely salty! I asked them to remake it. They explained that they couldn’t because it was 3lbs. Not sure why the number of pounds made a difference. They also could not offer any sort of refund because I ordered from the Skrimp Shack site instead of in-store. Very disappointed in the lack of accountability and customer service. I was advised to stop by some time next week to speak with the owner.
