The food was amazing. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about their service. The restaurant was understaffed. We ordered four entrées and got three in duration of 30 mins. The lady packed the fourth plate to go. The drinks weren’t refilled. Overall
, the food is amazing. Lots of flavor and good portions for the price.

If I could give this a place a 10 star rating I would. We enjoyed every bite of their chicken and redfish dishes. The dates, the biscuits, the key lime pie and banana pudding were fantastic. We were greeted at the door with a big warm country smile and welcome. Our waiter recommended our dishes because we had 3 plates that we desperately wanted to try. So…..good.

Overall a positive experience but I ordered a chicken biscuit slider and the chicken was comically tiny. Taste great and the biscuits good, just annoyed both my sister’s chicken biscuits were up to par and I basically had a nugget.

My friend and I had dinner at Colleen’s Kitchen recently and were really excited to try it. We had heard great things and made a 6PM reservation. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish.

We were seated right away and our server took our drink and appetizer order. After receiving those, we were left for about 45 minutes without anyone returning and realized we had never even been given the chance to order our entrees. My friend had to go inside to find another staff member to help us. A second server came out and apologized, explaining there had been a “mix-up,” and took over our table.
From there, the service continued to lag. It took another 45 minutes to an hour for our food to arrive. By this point, we had been there nearly two hours for a simple dinner for two.
The food itself was underwhelming. The chicken pot pie tasted fine but was surprisingly small. It was more like a frozen portion than something made fresh. The deviled eggs and seasonal margarita were the highlights of the meal, but everything else was just okay.

Throughout the meal, we also struggled to get water refills and had very limited check-ins from staff.
When we spoke with the manager about the experience, he apologized and said he would make things right and told me he would take care of the check. However, the final bill didn’t reflect any meaningful adjustment despite the delays and service issues. In fact I am certain I paid for my meal in full.

When our waiter came back to check up on us, I asked for a water refill and he said “Of course I’ll get you water, I don’t want you to find anything else to complain about” Truthfully I was shocked at this response and didn’t have time to process what was said to me in that moment. I was dumbfounded that I was spoken to that way.

Overall, what was meant to be a fun first visit turned into a frustrating and drawn-out experience. We left disappointed and unfortunately don’t feel motivated to return. We expected the hospitality to reflect the restaurant’s standard and left wishing it had.

Stopped in on a trip through town and im so glad I did. Believe it or not it was chatgpt that suggested it so I had an idea of the type of food and atmosphere weeks before we left on the trip. Hubby had the chicken and waffles. Oh that sauce was insanely tasty. I had the grillades and grits. I’ve never had short ribs with grits before but a bite with everything in it was pure heaven. Service was great. 10/10 recommend and will come back again if we are in the area.

Food was mostly very good but the service was lackluster. It took nearly 30 minutes for our cocktails to arrive and even longer for one cup of drip coffee to arrive. The biscuits were fantastic, as were the shrimp and grits. I ordered a salad which tasted okay, except for the fact that the lettuce was weirdly gritty which makes me wonder if it had been washed. Additionally, my salad contained the chopped off root section of a baby romaine which was clearly a mistake, so I’m skeptical about quality control in the kitchen.

In terms of service, two members of our party were running about 10 minutes late and the host was rude and inhospitable to the two that showed up on time. We understand that the host must honor the restaurants policy to not seat a table until the whole party has arrived but, we do expect them to convey this policy with grace and respect.

The rude host soured the experience for the two members of who arrived on time. If the first two members of our party been seated promptly, or at a minimum, treated with respect while they waited, we would have ordered more food, cocktails, and stayed longer. Although the food was good, based on this experience, I doubt we will be back. There’s so many good restaurants in this city to bother with places with rude staff.

The atmosphere was very open, spacious and homely. I loved the pillow accents in the booth seating. Service was impeccable. The honey battered chicken was seasoned perfectly and the homemade fries were delicious. The deviled eggs had a pinch too much salt but overall they were good. Plating was impeccable. I’d definitely recommend! Oh, and my guest loved their ranch sauce. Said it was the best they’d ever had!

We love Colleen’s! The food is yummy and comforting, the staff is always friendly, the space is so clean and comfortable. The decor is adorable. Someone always checks in on us to make sure we are having a nice experience. We live right down the street and will continue coming here for a long time! Love the coffee here too.

Great brunch menu! We had the biscuits and gravy and chilaquiles. The menu options, service and food are much better than many other brunch places that always have crazy lines out the door. There was no wait when we walked in and we were seated right away. They have a nice patio area outside with heaters and the inside is beautifully decorated. They also had a good kid’s menu/coloring page. The location is an easy walk from the parking garage and Thinkery. Our server was great and the manager was actively checking on tables. It is rare to find a restaurant that gets it all right, 10/10.
