, the food is amazing. Lots of flavor and good portions for the price.
We were seated right away and our server took our drink and appetizer order. After receiving those, we were left for about 45 minutes without anyone returning and realized we had never even been given the chance to order our entrees. My friend had to go inside to find another staff member to help us. A second server came out and apologized, explaining there had been a “mix-up,” and took over our table.
From there, the service continued to lag. It took another 45 minutes to an hour for our food to arrive. By this point, we had been there nearly two hours for a simple dinner for two.
The food itself was underwhelming. The chicken pot pie tasted fine but was surprisingly small. It was more like a frozen portion than something made fresh. The deviled eggs and seasonal margarita were the highlights of the meal, but everything else was just okay.
Throughout the meal, we also struggled to get water refills and had very limited check-ins from staff.
When we spoke with the manager about the experience, he apologized and said he would make things right and told me he would take care of the check. However, the final bill didn’t reflect any meaningful adjustment despite the delays and service issues. In fact I am certain I paid for my meal in full.
When our waiter came back to check up on us, I asked for a water refill and he said “Of course I’ll get you water, I don’t want you to find anything else to complain about” Truthfully I was shocked at this response and didn’t have time to process what was said to me in that moment. I was dumbfounded that I was spoken to that way.
Overall, what was meant to be a fun first visit turned into a frustrating and drawn-out experience. We left disappointed and unfortunately don’t feel motivated to return. We expected the hospitality to reflect the restaurant’s standard and left wishing it had.
In terms of service, two members of our party were running about 10 minutes late and the host was rude and inhospitable to the two that showed up on time. We understand that the host must honor the restaurants policy to not seat a table until the whole party has arrived but, we do expect them to convey this policy with grace and respect.
The rude host soured the experience for the two members of who arrived on time. If the first two members of our party been seated promptly, or at a minimum, treated with respect while they waited, we would have ordered more food, cocktails, and stayed longer. Although the food was good, based on this experience, I doubt we will be back. There’s so many good restaurants in this city to bother with places with rude staff.
