Yesterday at 4:45 pm my family went to the Plainfield location. We waited in line 10 mins until we were first in line and then the guy cutting the brisket said, be with you in a moment. After a minute, I asked him, sir what do you prefer… the tator tot casserole or the greens. He said tots and after another minute my daughter asked, is that beef or pig he was cutting up. He said beef. He then told us to move down the line towards the cashier. We went to the cashier and she said, sorry, we have a large online order its going to be a while, I said no rush take your time. After 5 mins waiting in front of her, she said, are you ready to pay and I said, we didn’t order yet. She then said, you have to order from the first guy in front and then told us to go back in line (which had many people in it, again). Instead of using common sense and saying sorry, can I take your order now, I went to my wife that was sitting at a table in the back of the restaurant with the rest of my family and explained the situation, we then went back in line but I was so upset I told my family lets leave. We then went to Mojo’s where we eat all the time. My wife was also very upset at this situation, she called the restaurant and spoke with the bartender. After the bartender cut her off from speaking, she gave the phone to me. I asked, are you the manager and he said no, we don’t have one right now. He cut me off plenty of times as well until I said, can you please listen to my situation. I explained what is in this message and he said to contact the website for the owners to hear my scenario. Word of mouth is the best marketing tool there is. Owners, you need to train your employees or your doors will close within the next couple of years. Filling out Yelp soon and spreading on social media next.

I loved it here! Will definitely be back! I ordered 1/2 pound of pulled pork and put it on tortillas (only $1 for several). They Have a self serve bbq area. It was BOMB!!! My husband got a beef and cheddar sandwich, which he loved.

Pastrami sandwich was loaded with pastrami. piled high. Burnt ends were very tasty. Sides are big enough to be shareable. They run out of the good stuff so get there early. Will visit again. Gets crowded, if there wasn’t outdoor seating available and nice weather it could be a problem. 30 minutes in line to order food. Only 4 stars as they ran out of items we were hoping to have.

This place never misses. Everything on the menu is absolutely stellar and very reasonably priced. The meats are always seasoned and cooked to perfection and even their sides are all made with the same care and quality as the mains.

You can always tell a lot about a BBQ type place on how good their sides are, and this place is unmatched in the area.

The place is always clean, has outdoor seating and is never too loud inside even on weekends.

You absolutely need to try the pork belly and the poutine with brisket. It’s insane how good these are.

We got a chopped brisket and sliced brisket here.
Both are $14 each for half pound of meat.

The “huge” fries we got from the menu were $6 (they are more like regular size instead of huge).

Elotes medium size was $6. Did not taste authentic but was good enough.

Total with tax: $43.69

Brisket was served warm not hot. That’s why I had to take one star off. Could have been much better if it was served hot.

Good pop songs and good vibes in this place. String of ceiling lights gives the whole place a warm glow. A full bar where you can sit and watch any of the three TVs on the wall in front – usually playing sports programming.
It’s a nice casual family & friends type of atmosphere.

You order from the menu at the counter, get your food right there as you wait and sit down at any available table just like a Chipotle.

Paper towel rolls are tethered to each table. Our food was not as messy but I guess they must have stuff on the menu where you would go through so many paper towels

By the way, the lines here moved extremely slow so be prepared for that. That’s the reason I had to take two stars out otherwise the people are nice.

This place is definitely worth a try at least once

Bonus fun fact:
I found out that this place had been an actual fire house before it opened up as a “smokehouse” restaurant in 2018. Pretty cool.

2nd time here. We are Texans and know good BBQ. The brisket and sides were outstanding both times. The smoked sausage with cheese was very good the first time, over cooked the second. So overcooked the cheese appeared to be drained out. No orange color or cheese residue anywhere.

The pork burnt ends were very good. Ordered iced tea (I am from Texas, LOL) only to find its not brewed. Comes from a machine. No big deal for most folks here but its an issue for me.

Best burger I have ever had, anywhere. However, recently, they changed the bun. I don’t mean to brag but I am a cheeseburger expert. The previous version of the burger had the perfect ratio of bun, meat and cheese. The new one is too heavy on the bun side. If you want an A+ on the burger, slim up the bun back to where it was…it was perfect.

As someone who’s always looking for good BBQ places to try, my wife and my parents and I decided to give this place a try after seeing the good reviews. For the set up, it is counter-service, so there are no reservations, first come first serve. Someone will bring your food out to you if its not ready when you order though. If you come around 5:30 or 6:00PM be prepared to wait. Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful. There was plenty of seating and even a patio area to sit outside if the weather is nice. I would give the service and atmosphere five stars.
I ordered the pork ribs, my wife ordered the smoked meat poutine, my mom ordered the loaded baked potato, and my dad ordered the smoked turkey club. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and you got very large portions for your money. The only caveat I would mention is that if your palate happens to be sensitive to sodium you might find it too salty. They had fountain drinks and you could order spirits at the bar. There was a line when we got there so I ordered some beers for my dad and I while we waited to order our food. Overall I would say the food, service, and atmosphere were great. If you’re close by and you like BBQ, it is definitely worth a visit.

Went to Station One when we got done with our wrestling tournament. The service was incredible and the food, so damn good. I got the poutine with smoked turkey added jalapeños and pickled red onions, a jalapeno cheddar link, hot link, cheesy potatoes and cornbread. Every single bit of it was amazing and I will definitely be going back this spring on a bike ride!

I’ve been coming here for years and their consistency has never faltered. Their bbq selection is great. I am personal fan of their smoked turkey, ribs, brisket burger and their cornbread. I have family who drive from inner city Chicago to eat here. Their service has also always been kind and I expect station one to continue to be one of the spots for bbq for years to come.
