Absolutely fantastic breakfast! I got the pumpkin spiced brewed coffee (no syrup, which I love), and it was smooth and flavorful. My omelet with sausage, jalapeños, avocado, their fresh home fries, rye toast, and a blueberry muffin was perfect — fresh (everything made in house), hearty, and well-seasoned. The place was clean, busy, and had a great energy. The waitress in the 2-seat section by the small wall as you walk in was incredibly kind — if the owner sees this, she deserves her props. Highly recommend this spot for a delicious breakfast done right.

We had a table of five. I had the Crab Fritatta and it was excellent. Everyone, except for one were very pleased with their food. One of the breakfasts was overdone and went uneaten. The server offer to have another one made, but that was declined as it took awhile to be served in the first place and the restaurant was much busier at that point. It was appreciated that that order was taken off the bill without a hassle. We all said that we would definitely return another day.

This is a quaint breakfast and lunch restaurant in Venice, Florida. My wife and I loved it. We visited on a late Tuesday morning and it was quite busy. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. Our server was pleasant and competent in spite of being very busy. My wife ordered chicken salad and I opted for the “Wisconsin” omelet with bacon. It includes 3 cheeses. Both of our meals were delicious. This was a very good experience for us, and we will certainly remember “The Original Word of Mouth” restaurant the next time we are in Venice!

We both ordered Benedicts off of the special menu on Saturday morning with a chocolate chip pancake to share. It was delicious, comforting food, with lovely and attentive service to make for a great brunch. We did not wait long to be seated, though you could snag a bar seat, and the food came out quickly after we ordered. It was a heavy, hearty meal with a pricey ticket, but it was worth it for the service and the support of a local business.

A true treat. As busy as it was we were seated quickly. Our server Misty was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The menu has many great choices. I had the Cazumel Scramble. It was delicious. The wife had Venice Ave Benedict. It look like it was the cover photo for a foodie magazine. It also was delicious. The coffee was excellent, and the staff made sure it was always full. We would not Heston recommend the Original Word of Mouth. Can’t wait to return.

I love coming to Word of Mouth but yesterday we had a waitress names Missy. The first thing she refilled everyones water but mine. They brought our food and neglected to bring my toast. I told the waitress and by the time she brought my toast the eggs were cold. I said they brought everyone’s muffins and she told me it takes longer to make the toast. She could have offered fresh eggs and not make excuses. I have been coming to your establishment for years and love it. I have never complained at a restaurant before. She just needs to work on her tactics for dealing with customers.

When you walk in, you instantly feel welcome. The space is bright and cheery, with a bit of a rustic vibe mixed in, and it just screams “breakfast.” Our waitress was very friendly and we were super impressed at how quickly the food came, especially for a group of 5! My group of friends ordered a variety of dishes, including the cinnamon crepes, quiche, Manhattan omelette, and cinnamon roll French toast. I ordered the pancakes and they were deliciously fluffy. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back if we are in the area again!
