House-smoked, Carolina-meets-Kansas BBQ ribs, wings & more in a festive roadhouse setting.

Overall ok. Service was very slow over lunch on a weekday – it was fine since we weren’t in a rush but was surprised since everything’s essentially already cooked. Brisket sandwich was tasty, meat very smoky but somewhat dry. Half rack of ribs was fall off the bone tender but also rather fatty. Star of the show was the collard greens. Just the right amount of vinegar to make them impossible to stop eating. Was surprised by the cost – everything seemed $5-8 more expensive than I would have expected.
Overall decent and friendly but not fantastic.

Excellent service, the waiter was friendly and checked on us frequently, this was my first time at the restaurant and I felt very welcomed. It’s a nice cozy atmosphere.
My wife thought the blackened salmon was fantastic. I myself had the ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and bbq chicken platter. All the meats we cooked to perfection and all food was priced decently so you wont breakyou pockets visiting.
What made me decide to write this review is the grill master was so personable, came and spoke with us at the table told us the place has been there 27yrs. Even took pictures of us when we were leaving.
I would gladly like to visit the place again. Thank you for being so kind and welcoming us the enjoy your delicious food.

This barbecue easily exceeds anything I’ve had in the Northeast for the last several years. I got a three meat combo with kielbasa, 1/4 rack of ribs, and 1/4 chicken. My sides were red skin potato salad and cornbread.
The kielbasa was essentially perfect, with a snappy, salty casing and spiced, moist filling. The ribs were similarly excellent: deeply smoky, hearty yet incredibly tender. The chicken, while quite flavorful, was unfortunately a little bit dry. The good news is that everything else on my plate was so good that I really didn’t care.
On that note, the cornbread was a great density and the potato salad was quite good as well.
Pricing is reasonable for what you get and the service was prompt and friendly.
Since I hike in the area every once in awhile, I absolutely plan on returning. This was such a treat.

We were pleased to find this BBQ joint open on a Monday night. My daughter enjoyed the beef brisket, my husband had quarter chicken, my son ate all his mac & cheese, and I was happy to have seafood options. I enjoyed the blackened salmon, corn bread, and collard greens. The staff was very friendly. We would like to try their Sunday brunch next time.

Always saw this place driving to and from West Point for athletic events. Finally decided to try it and had the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich. It was amazing. I talked with one of the owners (?) who gave me the backstory on how he got the recipe and made it for the menu. Very attentive and warm staff. Made for a great experience and left very satisfied! Will come back again.

Firstly let’s talk about the main reason anyone goes to a restaurant, the food. All of it was outstanding! We started with the smoked wings (mild) which were healthy sized with great flavor. We then had the porkinator which when they say its piled with pulled pork they arnt kidding as well as the 3 meat platter (ribs, brisket, pulled pork) all of which were perfectly done. Nothing was dry whatsoever or overly sauced. Portions of the food were also far from skimpy. The service, everyone was super friendly and attentive and truly display a welcoming environment which makes you want to come back.

After a wonderful hike on Bear Mountain, we got really hungry. Thankfully this place was right down the road and open for business. The staff was super kind and friendly. The menu options were what you’d expect at a BBQ restaurant and the flavors did not disappoint! The baked beans were spot on, which is where I like to start to know if a restaurant cares about what they’re serving; and they clearly do! Everything on our plate tasted amazing, especially after a hike. I’d recommend the pulled pork and that sauce as my most memorable (for me) but the entire plate was delicious. If you’re eating with someone this can easily be shared for two with leftovers. You won’t be underserved like some restaurants in the city (a joyful mistake we made by ordering separate gave us plenty.) The French onion soup is great too! Someone recommended we dip our fries in it and that was a game changer! Definitely has a homey vibe with people who care about food and good service. So if you’re hungry after Bear Mountain and reading what’s around to eat; this is your spot! You won’t be disappointed and you wont break your wallet. Also they have a sign that says “no reservations!” If that matters in your meal planning

I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ve been coming here every time I’m in the area since I discovered this place almost over 8 years ago!!
This place is nothing but good. Good ingredients, good portions, good food and good people. Highly recommended especially after some hiking hunger.
Thank you so much for serving us all these years, will always take a stop by when we’re in town 🙂

We were visiting the area for a West Point game and saw that this restaurant received solid reviews so we thought we would give it a try. The staff were very attentive and everything we ordered was very good. Prices were very good, especially given the portion sizes. Definitely would come here again when we are in the area.

The meat was really dry. We got the brisket and the ribs, and both were on the hard and dry side to the point where it was a little hard to eat. Flavor was fine, the sweet potato fries were crispy, the cornbread was great, it’s just a shame the meat wasn’t juicier. Atmosphere and staff were great. Definitely not worth the 4.5 star rating though, sorry, please improve your meat.
