After years of traveling around the country and the world and searching out great spots that care deeply about what they serve, I’ve committed to highlighting places I love. Most everyone loves pizza – I’m right up there in the top 0.1 percentile of pizza fanatics. Living in NYC, I’ve been fortunate to eat at almost every one of the great spots – in all five boroughs. Tonight my daughter and I wanted to try deep dish at Emmett’s on MacDougal. I’ve eaten at this Emmett’s before – but had the thin crust. It was great. I love deep dish. I travel to Chicago for work regularly and have tried most of the greats there too (Pequods is my favorite). Emmett’s on grove is legit! Delicious. We got the traditional sausage, peppers and onions and it was dead on. It was saucy, the sausage had a little spice, and the crust was buttery greatness. The vibe here is great and I would highly recommend a stop here.

Amazing food!
Was over in New York recently with some friends and none of us had ever tried a real deep dish pizza. So worth the walk over to Greenwich Village to get dinner here.
Staff were so friendly and the pizza was phenomenal. Would happily go again if I’m in the area and would highly recommend to anyone else.

I went with my husband on a Saturday afternoon, we did a reservation to prevent falling in finding a table. The place is very small I will recommend book a table if you’re visiting during the weekend. They have multiple pizza pie options; and wine selections also beers. They don’t have or at least I didn’t see in the menu alcohol cocktails. We ordered the deep pizza pie, you have to give them a 30 min time to prep your food. But everything feels fresh, staff is ready to help you out. And the price is right. I will come back to try the regular pizza

This place changed my view on deep dish. I recommend the Cheese Louise, a side of fries, and a root beer. Perfection . The Cheese Louise has the perfect ratio of ingredients that balance it out so well. The cheese on the crust to give it that extra crunch is delicious. And then you have the fries, which make you never want to eat fries from anywhere else ever again. It’s worth traveling far from so as a FYI, the Cheese Louise has a time limit for when you can order. I believe you can’t order it after 4 pm. It does take a while to make, but it is definitely worth it.

The pizza was great. The fries were great and the atmosphere was great! Inside felt well lived in and cozy, the perfect atmosphere for eating such good pizza. The staff was friendly acknowledge and even though they were very busy, they were very attentive. The prices are reasonable, the service is exceptional, And if you are a match book collector like Me, they have really cute ones!

Emmet’s is a fantastic spot that checks all the boxes for a great dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and excellent service from start to finish. We decided to try the double dish pizza, and it was absolutely amazing—perfectly baked with rich flavors that left us craving more. The food overall is outstanding, and it’s clear they take pride in delivering quality dishes. Whether you’re there for the pizza or something else, you’re in for a treat. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and a relaxed, friendly vibe!

If you are looking for authentic Chicago deep dish in NYC, this is absolutely the place. I’ve been a regular here for a while because I genuinely crave their pizza. The 30-minute bake time (and wait) doesn’t bother me at all—it’s usually worth it.
I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because the consistency varies slightly; every once in a while, the deep dish comes out a little soggy on the bottom. When it’s on point, it’s easily a 5-star meal. Still the best spot in the city to satisfy that craving.

Listen, if you are a minority hear me out. The music may not reach you, but eventually it reached me and I sat there to respect the whole experience as a whole. But this is the most upscale, but best pizza place I’ve been to in years. I’ve traveled many states and this is top tier. The deep dish Pizza is good, with real handcut fries; Yes I’ve had processed fries advertise as hand cut fries. They sell good food, wines and small spirits cocktail list, not just an expensive brand. Thank you to the host, bartender and waiter who runs the bar like its easy doing all these jobs. Noah was top tier! Respect to him every business owner would want him on board. He runs it all.

Perfect little soho nook pizza bar. Food , vibe and people are outstanding. The deep dish is as close to Chicago without being in Chicago. Maybe better? Worth checking out.

We ordered the Hot Girl pizza and it totally lived up to the name, spicy, crispy, and so flavorful!
Came here for dinner and drinks with my date on a Friday night, and absolutely loved the vibe. It’s a small, cozy spot that’s perfect for catching up with friends or having a casual night out. The staff was friendly, the drinks were solid, and the food was a pleasant surprise. Definitely coming back again.
