We went to Nine Mile in Bluffton, Indiana on a Tuesday night with a party of five, and it was definitely busy! We arrived around 6:00 PM and the place was already packed, which says a lot about how popular this restaurant is with locals. Even though it was crowded, the wait time was reasonable — we waited about 20 minutes before being seated, which felt fair given how full the restaurant was.

Nine Mile has a very welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. You could tell it’s a place where families, couples, and groups of friends all feel comfortable dining together. The dining area was lively but not overwhelming, and everything felt clean and well-organized despite how busy they were. The staff was clearly working hard to keep things moving and remained polite and efficient throughout the evening.

I ordered the taco salad, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and the portion size. The serving was very generous — definitely enough to leave you feeling full. The ingredients tasted fresh, the flavors were well-balanced, and it was satisfying without being too heavy. If you’re someone who appreciates good value for your money, this dish is a solid choice.

Overall, Nine Mile is a great option for a casual family dinner or a night out when you want dependable food in a relaxed setting. Expect a short wait during peak hours, but the food and atmosphere make it worth it. We would definitely come back again.

Wonderful atmosphere, servers are kind and always on top of it. My drinks never went empty and one of the owners Joe even came out to check on some of the older patrons that I assume are regulars. Very down to earth. Food was amazing and big serving

Nine Mile Restaurant is a great place just out of town. They have their history on the back of the menu, and they are located 9 Miles from the Allen County Courthouse. They have a good size menu and a great bar. All the food is made to order and comes out hot. They may be busy but the servers stay on top of things. This was a great evening!

Our first visit here went very well. My wife and I tried their Buffalo Wings, the 9 Mile Burger, the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, Onion Rings and the Caesar side salad. And although their sauces leave a little to be desired they more than make up for it with their quality of food and their more than helpful and friendly staff. It was a very pleasant dining experience. Can’t wait until we are in the area again. Next time we plan on trying either their Pizza or their Cod fish. Both of them looked extremely good.

We drove by this place in the morning and decided to stop on our trip back. Glad we did!
Our waitress was SO sweet and helpful. She knew what we needed before we asked for it! Even brought us refill of our drinks before we asked
I want to say that everything was served piping hot and stayed hot through out our meal.
My husband ordered gizzards and fried pickles for appetizers. Both were HUGE servings. And both were delicious! The batter was perfect and crunchy.
My Nine Mile burger was cooked perfectly, piled high with cheese and grilled onions on a Kiser roll. Served with fries.
My husband got “Mess of Perch”. It had a cornmeal batter and was served with potato salad, coleslaw and a piece of toasted bread.
We took 2 boxes of leftovers home. I reheated our food in an iron skillet and it was perfect and crunchy.
Going back to try something else on the menu

Had the Lake Perch, with salad and potato salad. The menu stated that the fish was lightly battered. Compared to other restaurants that I have had similar meal I thought the batter was more toward medium thickness and a little salty to my taste. Mine you that I do not salt anything that I cook at home. My wife had the chicken gizzards and onion rings which she enjoyed.

UPDATE: Major let down today. Service was still good, but our food choices weren’t. Excited to try the gizzards, but I’m not a fan of them being soft and definitely not a fan of tempura batter. The “Final Final Burger” was simply OK. For a half pound burger I was anticipating it being much larger. Wasn’t bad, but wasn’t what I was hoping for. The cheese pizza was no longer “the best pizza in the universe” as my daughter had claimed before. Crust was tough and cheese was hard. Total disappointment. My wife got the Philly Sub and onion rings. Again, not a fan of tempura batter and the sub lacked flavor and pizzaz. As we left we decided we won’t go out of our way to stop again. I know it has been around forever, but to drop $75 and it be mediocre at best isn’t worth another look. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Have been by there numerous times, but parking lot was always full. I made it a point to get there when they opened today and glad I did. They filled up fast! The service is top notch. Everyone working together to make sure everyone was being taken care of. Erin was our main server and she was very kind, caring and upbeat. My daughter was excited to see they offered pizza and ordered accordingly. She took one bite and said, “This is the best pizza in the universe.” I had their 3 piece cod with fries and cole slaw. It was very good. Everything was fresh and hot.

Good food, friendly employees, comfortable atmosphere. There’s a bar side and family room side once you walk inside, an employee will seat you on the family room side. The menu has just about everything you could ask for, lots and lots of options and even options that don’t appear on menus as often. The pictures are of the “mess of lake perch” and “deluxe sausage roll”.

This past Friday, April 18th, my boyfriend and I stopped in around 3 to 4 p.m. apparently we sat in a bad spot behind a wooden pole, and no one seen us. People that came in after us were given menus, drinks, and had their order taken. So I finally went up to the bar and approached a blonde waitress and told her the situation. She got slightly snobby with me, trying to act polite though. We spent a lot of time waiting. It was so ironic when our waitress finally came to our table and told me that she had to take another table because they were there before us. I was thinking, how do you even know when we got here because no one even seen us? Lol anyhow, my boyfriend ordered a club sandwich and I decided to try the Italian beef for the first time. I have never in my life seen au jus look like this! It was absolutely terrible! It looks like someone dumped an entire bottle of oregano into it. And those are giant garlic chunks floating in it. So disgusting. I could not eat my food. I put the sandwich in a box to go. The actual sandwich is supposed to have au jus on it too, but the au jus on the sandwich was not the same as what was in the dish. I should have taken a picture of that too. It would have had oregano all over the sandwich. I’m not accusing anyone, but it makes me wonder if that one waitress was vindictive and did that? I’m not sure who to blame. If the cook did that, they need to get a new cook. I only normally get the fried cod, but I wanted to try something different. Their cod is usually good but I’m not sure with this cook. I’m not sure if they are new, or not. We got the crab, stuffed mushroom appetizer as well, and it was overbearing with garlic. More than usual, a lot more. Our waitress was really nice. I’m not sure of her name, but she offered to get our appetizer for us. I told her that wasn’t necessary, but she still did. I was also freezing my butt off in there. It’s always cold. It’s a bar setting, so bars like to keep it cool to keep the drinkers there drinking. Take a hoodie if you go there. I don’t know if I will ever dine in there again. I might get food to go. But honestly, I feel that they are overpriced for the quality anymore. The time before this past Friday that I was in there and I got fried cod to go, when I went to pick it up, I asked the waitress if there was tartar and lemon in the box. She opened it, checked it, and told me yes. I get home and there’s tartar, but no lemon. ‍♀️ at this point, I feel like I’m generous giving three stars. I understand people make mistakes, but I waited tables for several years and you always look up and check the room to make sure the other people didn’t sit while you weren’t looking. It’s pretty simple really. And I feel all of that oregano, was no accident. If this would have been my first time there, I would never look back and never go there again, but I do know that they can do better.
