Damn I love this place! I first discovered it in 2012 and I was a regular here since. I was a regular customer here in 2012, 2013, 2014, and the last time I was here was 2017 (8 years ago) when I ordered their pastrami sandwich. This year, I was doing a research about best hamburgers in the Valley and this one came out, I was surprise to learn that this place was historical and have been here since 1970’s. I usually get their “double bacon cheese burger” and not once I have been disappointed. This spot and “Michael’s burger” in Canoga Park have been one of my favorite burger spot.
My fiancé & I shared the large double cheese burger with custom fries. I asked for well done fries for the extra crunch factor & my fiancé wanted extra seasoning. It was a delicious meal at the cutest old fashioned meal in town.
I REPEAT: GET THE FRIES! I’ve never been the jealous type, but after eating the fries at this place yesterday. I was instantaneously jealous of every Californian that gets to enjoy this establishment on the regular basis lol. The portions-as already mentioned in other posts are massive, but these are absolutely hands down the best fries I’ve ever had! The other items I tried were I’d OK, I wasn’t really impressed with the cheeseburger or the patty melt. The homemade taquito were good better than the other ones the regular ones. But it’s ok I’m coming back for what really matters….the FRIES
So when I walked up to the window I was already picturing that incredible pastrami burger. There is just something about how the two meats compliment each other.
To finish off my order I went with a small bag of onion rings and a small bag of fries. Just as an FYI the small bags are big enough to share.
They give you tons of fries with every order.(make sure to ask for extra crispy)
You know the fries are absolutely delicious when the oil is seeping through the bag. The burgers are homemade and taste like they were grilled in a backyard.
Definitely a homely place with great pricing and food. Only issue is they charge for ranch, but what can you do… at least they give you enough to save for later.
