We are an authentic NY Jewish Delicatessen. Established in 2018 at the ask of family, friends, and the sheer lack of foods of our heritage. Our goal is to recreate the experiences of old New York on the lower east side. We source the finest ingredients available to produce the flavors, smells, and memories we all look for from a Jewish Delicatessen.
Classic New York light fare, including bagels & pastrami sandwiches, served in a homey dining room.

The Rachel is a simple and delicious staple loaded high with pastrami (though you can get it “Seattle-style” with half the meat) on their house-made rye bread. Pair that with a side of their perfect matzo ball soup and you’ve got yourself a top-notch comfort meal. If you’re somehow still hungry, grab an order of bread pudding, which is truly some of the best I’ve ever had with a perfect balance of light custard and chewy bread plus a nice crispy topping.
The staff is simply lovely. I was offered a free latte with my breakfast order and shared some nice conversation. From my time here, it’s clear that Dingfelder’s has become a local staple for the Jewish community in the area. Whether you’re Jewish or not, the comforting, welcoming atmosphere and simply delicious food make this deli 100% worth a stop.
The Food
Classic deli comfort done with precision. Portions are generous, flavors are bold but balanced, and every bite feels built on quality ingredients rather than shortcuts. Bread holds up, meats are tender and well-seasoned, and the overall experience hits that rare sweet spot of indulgent but still clean.
Service & Atmosphere
Fast, organized, and friendly even when it’s busy. Staff keep the line moving, answer questions without rushing you, and the dining room stays upbeat. It’s the kind of place where you can bring out-of-towners and feel confident they’ll leave impressed.
More Details
• Vegetarian options: A few strong vegetarian sandwiches and sides; easy to build a meat-free meal.
• Dietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy are common; cross-contact is likely in a busy deli. Staff can suggest simpler builds.
• Parking: Street parking nearby; peak lunch hours can be tight, but turnover is steady.
• Kid-friendliness: Very — casual space, big portions, and quick service.
• Wheelchair accessibility: Ground-level entry and movable seating; aisles can feel tight during rush.
Final Take
A deli that delivers the real thing — quality, generous portions, and an atmosphere that feels like a community staple. Five stars for consistency and comfort that’s worth the line.
We enjoyed every bite of the Rachel sandwich which had a pile of their melt in your mouth pastrami, and the chicken matzo ball soup.
Thank you again, Bianca and I will definitely be back to see you the next time I visit Seattle!!!
i’ve tried the reuben with corned beef, and a reuben(rachel)with pastrami. both were..ok. definitely not worth the $32 they’re charging.
the flavor of the meats are not really reminiscent of corned beef or pastrami. just kind of tastes of overwhelming meat and water. and it has kind of a weird texture i’ve never seen. the texture is like the meat was hot, then refrigerated then heated back up again. it just kinda breaks apart. its really fatty and almost gelatinous, & if you want leaner meat you have to pay extra. insane. plus it’s cut waay too thick & they won’t (or apparently can’t) cut it thinner. the kraut is more of a texture and mostly tasteless. there also wasn’t enough dressing or cheese in the sandwich for the amount of meat present. there were also a few slices of pickle and a funny little sauce container of potato salad.
service is fine, ambiance is whatever. not a particularly pleasant place to have a meal. the $32 sandwich is also served on a paper plate which partially disintegrates during your meal even if you dine in.
my biggest issue is everything here is massively overpriced. even katz, a world famous (overpriced)deli with arguably one of the best reubens in existence, in the most expensive city in the country doesn’t charge $32.
2 stars because the food was edible, but id never come back for it at any price point.
Enjoyed a “Rachel” – which was a grilled pastrami – and a normal brisket sandwich. Both were phenomenal. While pricey, the portions were so generous, we both took half a sandwich home.
We also got a cookie and some matzo ball some for the road. Topped off an excellent meal, no doubt.
A couple guys sat next to us and shared they were Jewish and intentionally make a stop at this deli anytime they’re in the area. It’s not hard to guess why.
Pro tip – get an order of pickles to go!
The bread was fresh and hearty enough to hold it all together, but still soft enough to let the pastrami shine. Pair that with their tangy mustard and a side of pickles, and you’ve got a sandwich that hits every note.
Dingfelder’s feels like an authentic East Coast deli experience right in Seattle—friendly service, generous portions, and food that’s made with real care. If you’re a pastrami lover, this is a must-visit.
