Upon walking in we were greeted. The 1st server was not happy to be opened. I told him what meat I wanted and he did not speak and looked angry. We went on to get the vegetables and the ladies were more pleasing. We asked if we wanted drinks, we asked what do you have. When she said Kool Aid, we asked what flavor, that’s when the attitudes begin. Birmingham have plenty of soul food joints. Ruth Cafe needs better service for this to be their grand opening. People don’t know anything about your restaurant. It’s up to the owner to make sure you have pleasant workers who wants to be there and give the consumer answers with a smile.

Absolutely delicious food. I had the peppered steak with rice and gravy. Got a side of Mac and cheese and green beans. Reminded me so much of my father and grandmother’s cooking. The wife had chicken tenders with fries. Staff was very friendly and pleasant. Service was quick and the facility was extremely clean. Will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again.

today was me and my husband first time stopping by Ruth Café I had greens meatloaf, macaroni cheese and a cornbread muffin. The food was horrible They put sugar in greens and the sauce for the meatloaf was also sweet mac n cheese was dry Everything I had on my plate was bland no flavor This was an absolute waste of my money. The lady who stands at the end of the line right by check out has a very nasty attitude this is the second in counter I’ve had with her (not the lady who takes the money but the lady who stands right by her ). The way her attitude is she needs to work in the back, not in front with customers. No customer service skills whatsoever. I will not be back. You can think you’re pretty on the outside, but having a nasty attitude makes you ugly. I asked can you check to see if gravy’s on my dressing and she said I don’t know I didn’t fix it. It doesn’t matter if you fixed it or not you’re on the line. I’m getting ready to check out and was making sure I had it before I left. Because when the plate was being fixed I told the lady I wanted gravy and she forgot and started fixing another plate. I will not be back.

I have been eating at Ruth’s cafe for a long time, but they need to up their customer service. It is not good and this has seemed to be the case since they moved from their previous locations from the building near the railroad tracks. There was no greeting or explanation of what was on the steam table for that day. All of the staff seemed lackadaisical in their attitudes and I felt uncomfortable asking questions because the energy was so off. There was no enthusiasm, just pure blah. Whoever is in management, please talk to your front facing staff about their tone of voice and facial expressions. You don’t have to over do it, but at least look like you want to be at work. The woman who was taking the payment at the end seemed so flustered and rushed. I love the food, but the customer service will make me not go back.

Absolutely AWFUL! The food used to be sooooo good when it was off of Daniel Payne Dr. The service was better too! I only got sausage and cheese grits and they weren’t seasoned and the grits were just yellow THATS IT! Im never going back. Would NOT recommend. I was so disappointed
