Chicken nachos did not disappoint! The chicken was well seasoned and served hot, plenty of toppings and their chips are nice and thick. Also enjoyed their thick delicious salsa (not a fan of thin watery salsa). Service was excellent.

I love Don Sol so much and always have. The food is delicious and the service is usually amazing. I go there quite often and typically have a good experience. However, the past couple months any time i have ordered the kids pollo loco, I have received the kids pollo playa. Last time I tried to bring this up to my waiter, I was told that I was wrong and that was what i ordered when I can 100% guarantee that I ordered the pollo loco (this is quite literally the only meal i’ve ever had from here. i know what i ordered). I asked if I could get a small plate of beans because I ordered the pollo loco (chicken rice and beans) not the pollo playa (just chicken and rice) and was denied that. If it was a one time incident i would not care, but it has happened over and over again to the point where it is just annoying. I don’t enjoy paying for something i did not order.

Everything here has been great so far for the past several years. Something has definitely changed at this location. The only issue I see is that they will over charge you for pickup items and give you smaller portions than what you would receive if dining in. So, you should pay close attention. They will have you sign a receipt but not give you the itemized receipt. They also will charge you $10 for a bag of chips. If you ask them about pricing they act confused. There were several times my family and I picked up large cheese cups and paid $15 a piece for them and yesterday they charged me $13 a piece for them. It really depends on who is taking your order and checking you out at the cashier register. Be very careful and watch how much they charge for items. I am guessing they do not have a lot of customers pay better attention to what they’re paying when checking out.

Waitress Pamela was extremely rude and could not understand English enough to put our order in correctly. I ordered chicken in my skillet which came out with potatoes only. Pointed it out to her and she brought me the menu and tried to act like I ordered wrong. I didn’t. My nephew got the children’s chicken playa and she upcharged me 2 dollars for grilled chicken even though the meal came with grilled chicken. She tried to argue about this as well and was also trying to upcharge me to an adult chicken playa. The time before this visiting this restaurant my mother tried to use her discount points on a meal and they argued with her at our table and made a scene. Won’t be going back anytime soon if ever. Go to Tequilas. Better food and service.

My husband and I were traveling through Marion, IL and decided to eat at Del Sol after recommendations from the lady who checked us in. My dinner was recommended by Frederico- the steak bowl. I added cheese and it was great! Enjoyed our evening, we’ll definitely stop by on our next trip through.

The food was fresh and tasty. They gave everyone their own cup of salsa and kept the chips and salsa coming until the meals were ready. The waiter was very prompt on refilling waters and teas and other drinks. They also have Horchata which was a very nice beverage in a very tall glass mug. Downfall was teas were 3.49 a piece. Not a deal breaker but really tea is cheap to make! The horchata was 3.99 and each refill was 1.99. We had lunch portions for meals which were plenty filling, still came home with leftovers. The menu was fairly typical for the average Mexican restaraunt. It would be wonderful to see some authentic less common dishes on the lunch menu too, that would be so fun! Overall, we enjoyed our experience. Thank you ❤️

Unfortunately having to delete my five star review and reposting after eating there last week. We eat here 2-3x a month. We had an experience with an extremely hateful waitress last week when we were there. Usually I order four different ala carte items from the combo menu and they automatically ring it up as a combo. Our waitress didn’t do this so I went up to the register and the staff had her come fix it. However I didn’t realize that it wasn’t rung up as a combo because it was cheaper that way since the person I came with got three tacos and a side of rice (I also got three tacos as well and she gave me rice as well even though I didn’t order it). Instead of her taking the time to explain that to me, she slapped the new bill on the counter wrung up as a combo instead and I said that I didn’t realize it was cheaper like that. She said “yeah but it’s right now, correct?” In a hateful tone and then got rid of the cheaper bill and stormed back out to the patio. Another waitress noticed I was upset and asked me what was wrong and when I told her she told me she was sorry that happened; but no effort was made to change my bill back to how it was. So I just paid my bill and left in tears. I make mistakes as everyone does (including her by giving me something I didn’t order) and was prepared to tell her that but she was hateful and gave me no chance. I have been a long time customer of this business but not after this.

This place had a great patio. The tortilla chips were extra thick and crunchy. Salsa was middle of the pack but good flavor. I had the chicken burrito Chipotle. It had good flavor. Very simple dish. Beans had some kick to them.
