Our first trip to Newport and purposely came for this restaurant. We’d been wanting to see the views from here and they didn’t let us down.
We arrived a little past noon on a beautiful breezy day and got a table outside near the pier, with about 1 min wait just waiting for the hostess to come back from seating another table. Our food was really good, the triple decker roast beef, so happy it was the perfect color, I was concerned it would be grey but it was juicy and red. The crunchy chicken salad was perfect, they could use a larger bowl, it’s was hard to cut into it without spilling over the side but didn’t change the taste the artichoke dip with nachos was good too, the nachos had a seasoning on them they weren’t plain nachos. I didn’t enjoy my margarita, it was very weak and tasted like mix, I’ll stick with a soda or a G&T if we come back.
Our server wasn’t ideal. It was a very long wait after we sat which helped us know exactly what we wanted but another table was seated after us and they had their food first, and they were a party of 4 (we were 2), before we finally got our bill the same table (3 different x) was already having their drink order placed. Maybe management should add more servers or maybe they are short staffed or she just isn’t aware she forgets about one of her tables. This is why my service star is low otherwise the rest of our experience was good. Odd though, we had to take our bill yo the cashier in the way out, which from the deck is a walk plus the you have to wait for the cashier to Finnish taking names for tables, really odd. Maybe management should get those table tablets to cash out, smaller restaurants invest in those. We’d go back though if in this area again, the price was $70, with an app and 1 adult beverage, very reasonable with a beautiful view.

Absolutely amazing!! The level of quality coming out of this restaurant is something you would see in a big city fine dining restaurant. Food is beyond delicious. Staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is a cross between a coastal seafood and classic burger joint.

Food and service were great! We sat outside by the water. We were very pleased with everything. The food came out fast and it was all well prepared. Our server was friendly and helpful. The place was very busy, but ran like a well oiled machine. Newport is a lovely town.

Visited some friends and they suggested riding the boat over to here for dinner, pretty cool. Plenty of spots at boat marina. No wait to get a couple tables, place is very large. Service was great and very friendly. I tried the fish soup it was fantastic. Full of clams and everything. The sirloin tips was next and it was just as good. Followed up with sone ok coconut pie. Friends had salad, burgers, fish dip, club sandwich. Everything was great!

First time here. What a gem! We sat looking out enjoying the ice with a beautiful blue sky. All of our food and drink was very good and served by very personable and fun servers. The price and serving sizes were just right. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!

The wait staff is super and can handle large groups with ease and a friendly smile. Looking west over the lake from the deck on a warm summer evening is beautiful. The kitchen seems to be pretty quick. I had tuna poke and it was fresh, some of the food can be a little bland but they have extra sauces and salt and pepper is on the table. Overall this place has country charm and a great vibe. I recommend trying it.

I’ve been here a few times and I always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We called ahead and reserved so the wait time was basically nothing- just waiting in line! This past time the food was a bit disappointing. My husband and I got two different seafood plated (not fried). While he enjoyed his dish mine was ok but the white sauce was extremely salty. We sat outside at the bar (it had just rained) so I felt like we were kinda neglected. We waited a long time before ordering, water refills, and waiting for the check after dinner. We decided to pay on our way out after 15 minutes for waiting for the waitress to take our card. Like I previously mentioned, we have enjoyed the food and staff in the past , but today was a bit unsatisfactory.

We would give East Side a million stars. EVERYTHING was fabulous.
Very cool atmosphere. Our server, Sharon, was literally one of the best servers we have had in a VERY long time. Truly enjoyed her energy, her friendliness, her ability to forecast our needs and exceeded all expectations! Finally, the food was delicious!!! All 6 of us devoured our meals.
The only complaint: the front shop/bakery should stay open to accommodate all guests. The lady behind the counter was not very friendly.

Outback with Tom
We were heading to our 2nd half of our Norther VT trip and came across this gem. Great service from all staff that we encountered. We sat at a lakefront table so enjoyed great views while we ate our lunch. The winter chicken cashew salad was very tasty and had a great combination of flavors along with. Sizable portion. The fish and chips was cooked perfectly and again a great portion. Make sure to stop in and enjoy some good food with an amazing view.
