We tried, and thoroughly enjoyed, the Roasted Red pepper, arugula and goat cheese salad and a red pepper goat cheese pie. Everything being served looked yummy! I almost forgot the wide local beer selection.
Our server was excellent.
We got a pizza with pesto, fresh basil, tomato & mushroom. Their fall/seasonal drink, the Apple Cinnamon Sangria, and Tiramisu – all were delicious!! Will definitely go back if I’m in the area & recommend to others 🙂
The Brussels Sprout Appetizer was excellent and the tomato bisque soup was good.
The Pizza was amazing with a thinner crust which is crisp on the thin edges and the perfect chewiness everywhere else. Don’t Miss: The Pickle Pizza! Even the Margherita Pizza was really good! Definitely opt for the butter garlic crust option if you like Garlic.
Pizza’s didn’t taste burnt like some wood fired pizzas. Was excellent.
It was the Sparta Restaurant back in the day… everything was great, server, food and drinks. We had three varieties of their street tacos, deep fried cheese curds and the May special martinis (and maybe two other flavors). We had a great day in Newark!
They were pretty busy when we got there, so we sat at the bar. The bar seats are comfortable, generous with curved cushioned backs. We were surprised by how quickly we got our food. The service was great and bartender Jessica really made us feel welcome.
The pizza was excellent. The wood fired crust was crispy from first bite to last. The cheese was properly gooey and delicious. The sausage was great on it, too, very flavorful. The edgy Greek salad is served in a generous bowl, so we split that. They were nice enough to split the salad into two smaller bowls for us. Their house vinaigrette is garlicky and wonderful. The tiramisu cake, though not made by them, was great with lots of layers of creamy goodness.
The draft beer prices — Yuengling was $2.25, the IPA was $6.00 and my blueberry wheat beer was $4.25. Including our tip, we got out of there for just under $50 with tip. We’ll stick with domestic beer next time.
All in all, we had a great experience and we will definitely be back.
Their pizza is amazing and they have a wide beer selection. I enjoyed “That’s My Jam Strawberry” Blond Ale, by Saucy Brew Works. Highly recommend!!! I can’t wait to try their tacos on our next visit.
