Deninos Pizzeria is a landmark in New York, with our award winning, thin-crust pizza. We originally opened in 1937 as a full tavern on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island until Carlo Denino introduced Pizza in 1951. Since then, Deninos Pizzeria and Tavern has been renowned for our pizza pie and Italian dinner platters, which we always prepare fresh daily. We use our familys recipes for Chicken Parmigiana, Meatballs and Sausage and over the years we’ve added our own version of tavern favorites like Wings, Scungilli and Hero Sandwiches. Everything is always made from scratch, never frozen, and cooked to order.

Stopped in for the first after hearing very good remarks about this New Jersey pizza haven. We were definitely not disappointed, got there at a very busy hour and waited about 45 minutes outside. This was fine with me because it gave me time to go to the liquor store and load up on some cold beers since this is a BYOB establishment. We were eventually seated by the friendly hostesses and our expert waitress, we started with a few appetizers, the eggplant tower, freshly fried eggplant with homemade mozzarella , peppers and the house tomato sauce. We also had some garlicky and hot garlic knots and an order of their special meatballs, served with ricotta and the house tomato sauce, all were excellent. After a little wait, this place sends out an amazing amount of pizzas on a busy night, it was time for the piece de la reistance a beautiful thin crust, but not too thin, sausage and mushroom pie, perfectly cooked, nice amount of sauce and an excellent amount of mozzarella. We really enjoyed this pizza and I’ll stack it up there as one of the better pies that I have had in Jersey, Bravo !!

Ordered delivery, and my salad arrived with a giant green bug crawling around in it! When I called the restaurant to complain, they didn’t really seem to care, and brushed it off, and it even sounded like the girl on the phone was giggling. They told me all they could do was to give me a refund. Having thought about it more the next day, we called back and asked to speak with the manager, who was equally dismissive. He also said he would refund the charge, but could not do anything to refund the $10 tip that I had given to the driver. (He did say he would put a $10 credit on our phone number that we could use towards a future order. We will not be using that credit.) And as of right now, over two weeks since our 12/19 order, our credit card has still not been refunded! Anyway, while the original situation was gross, I’m mostly upset about the way it was handled. The poor customer service and failure of the manager to follow through has made it so that I will never return to this restaurant.

Apparently this is “bigger than a softball” the fact that they charge $9 for this tiny rice ball is ridiculous. But to say it’s bigger than a softball is hilarious

This may very well be the best sausage slice of pizza I’ve ever had. Phenomenal. It blends very well with their sauce and the pizza dough is tasty. Clean establishment. Friendly staff

We had such a good time and a great meal. Denino’s South is welcoming, spacious restaurant. Everyone is SO nice! Our waiter was attentive and friendly. They were welcoming of everyone, large parties and families. The place feels like home. The pizza was delicious! Cheesy and crispy and plenty of pepperoni. The antipasto salad was fresh and generous. The restaurant is accessible. Plenty of parking.

Very good thin slice pizza. The sauce is tasty and is well made, the cheese is well cooked and not overloaded, and the crust is toasted and crunchy.
Also have good appetizers of chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and calamari.
The salads are also pretty good with options of red peppers, olives, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. Can also add a decent amount of grilled chicken for protein.
Also a sizable restaurant with seating for 20+ people and multiple servers.
Overall great pizza restaurant

Happens too often, but this was worst. Told an hour for a pick up and went after an hour and told twenty minutes more. Parking was insane and went back out and then back in in 20 minutes and still not done. Walked outside for few minutes and then back in and told in the nastiest of voice your food is been ready. I tried to respond and she turned her back and walked away from me. The girls behind the counter have never been nice, but now down right rude. Dinners we ordered were cold, but pizza hot. Never going again. Prices too high, staff rude, no parking and too long of a wait for take out. Rather go to Brick Oven.

We’ve been meaning to eat here for years since they opened but every time we tried to pop in they were jam-packed… Usually a good sign. Finally making it in and sitting down to a white clam pizza and chicken parmigiana dish, we were left kind of kicking ourselves for not coming here sooner.
We started off with the sampler appetizer which was calamari, fried shrimp and mozzarella sticks… Your mozzarella sticks were delicious, the calamari was cooked to perfection and so were the shrimp. My only criticism is no tentacles in the calamari portion… Those are my favorite part.
The white clam pizza was second to none, crispy crust, great ingredients and absolutely delicious. The chicken parmigiana was also good but could have been pounded a little bit thinner and been a little crispier.
When we come back it will probably be for the pizza so we can try some of the other varieties on the menu. But we definitely will be back.
