Tried the Fish Paste Rice Roll with Crispy Bean Curd. The Taro and Pork Dumplings had a nice curry filling. The Crispy Silver Rolls with Condensed Milk had a fluffy pull-apart texture on the inside. Also had the Beef Balls with Watercress and Preserved Orange Peel with little pieces of water chestnuts. The Ha Gow had a good plump filling. We really liked the Steamed Bean Curd Rolls in soup.
Some dishes were good, like the 2 king crab dishes (steamed and deep fried) – lots of meat in the crab legs, though the steamed dish was slightly saltier. Abalone was alright at best. The desserts were good – we had Chinese cookies, steamed milk with ginger juice (really good), mung bean dessert soup.
Service was really friendly and personable. Restaurant setup was interesting too as there was another smaller cordoned off section for 4 people to play mahjong, while the main banquet hall had a few tables of dinner customers.
The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed dinner. Highly recommended for anyone craving high-quality Cantonese cuisine!
Clean Dining Environment: The restaurant feels bright and tidy, giving a comfortable atmosphere for enjoying dim sum.
Transparent Pricing: The menu is clear and straightforward with no hidden charges, so we knew exactly what to expect.
Food Quality: The dishes were decent — not the most outstanding dim sum in Richmond, but still fresh and satisfying for the price point.
What surprised us most was the service. Our server not only smiled while taking our order (rare for a busy dim sum spot), but also showed great attentiveness — refilling our teapot several times without us needing to ask. That small touch made the experience feel more welcoming and enjoyable
We ordered the lobster and Peking duck set with a roasted squab add on. The soup, Peking duck, and squab arrived first. The others were fine but the squab was undercooked and dripping blood. We told our server and she brought it back into the kitchen. They recooked it until it was dry and burnt. We told the manager and he just told us he would get back to us, so we told our server we would like to cancel the dish as we didn’t touch it. The manager never did come back to our table the rest of the night.
After that, the food basically stopped coming. We waited for at least 30min as we still had 3 dishes left. I’d have assumed one staff would have thought it’s weird why we weren’t leaving with an empty table and come up to ask us but they all kinda glanced over and walked away. We asked who I assumed was an assistant manager when we were going to get our other dishes and she told us verbatim “because you cancelled the squab dish, we assumed you’re in no rush to eat so we held your dishes. I’ll let the kitchen know we can serve them now”. Two of our vegetable dishes came after approximately another 15min, with one of them being lukewarm/cool instead of hot.
The same assistant manager came back and ask if we got everything and we told her we were still missing a fried rice (that used the rest of the peking duck). And that took another 10-15min to arrive.
The food honestly tasted good and fine (the fried rice and mung bean soup were not as good in comparison). And I feel like our server was fine up until the squab dish, then she started avoiding our table. We were not throwing tantrums or demanding them to switch the dish after eating most of it, we just explained to them that the untouched squab dish was bloody and now burnt.
Thirty dollars for a single small bowl of watery rice porridge.
Yes, prices have gone up for indigent and labors. But Cantonese restaurants like this have raised prices multiple times beyond inflation without any improvement in quality whatsoever.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. This restaurant is simply a disgrace.
I want to eat pigeon again today because of the nice weather.
Call to book at 11 am.
Ordered the braised pigeon by the way, because I saw its website
$36 a piece is quite cheap.
Today I ordered a brown colored pigeon it’s not crispy, tasteless and dry pigeon, no wonder it’s so cheap.
The pigeons have a strong smell, it’s the worst in my life
My parents introduced me to try garlic chili crab fried rice.
The crab rice is full of dried onions, dried shrimp and chili peppers.
But not enough flavor, we have to put our own salt and chili sauce to eat, the crabs are quite fragrant,
But what wasn’t fresh crab was.
But it’s quite a bargain at $33.
We can’t finish eating, so we have to pack half of it home.
Shrimp dumplings and steamed chicken feet are nothing special.
almond rolls dessert with a lot of sliced almonds inside.
They have 12% off after 11:00 a.m.
But I don’t know how they calculate
They discounted us $3.63
No changing plates, no adding water,
no politeness during the whole process.
Asked him to get the chili sauce and gave it to the wrong table next door.
Then wait forever to serve us.
There is no service at all
The washroom was extremely messy
and dirty. Our dining table got a lot of tea leaves on..
There was nothing good to eat in the whole meal and the service was not good. We won’t go there again
