I personally haven’t eaten chicago style pizza before so can’t comment on that. But I loved the pizza.
Pizza – I loved the fact that it had so much veggies in base and hence it didn’t feel like leaving the sides like bread. I loved the pizza and the fact that I could easily eat with fork and knife was cool too. 😀 The price is quite high for the PIZZA but the taste was really good.
Our friends don’t like artichokes and they didn’t relish the way I did. Honestly I also don’t like artichokes so much but I loved the pizza. So, what you order matters the most.
Pasta – It was creamy. The salt and taste was just perfect. The bread on the side could have been better toasted but otherwise it was okay.
Garlic bread – It was also yummy and had the best flavor.
Overall it was great experience. The seating space is limited so it might depend on the time of the day you are going but for us it all worked out.
Ample parking spaces – open, garage. There are cute little shops around to take a stroll before and after so overall it was a great dinner for a rainy wintry Sunday.
The Italian beef sandwich had a 2:1 bread to meat ratio (should have double the meat), and the meat was overpowered by the peppers because of it. The meat itself was pretty dry and bland. Steakums have more flavor. The au jus was over salted which helped the sandwich a little but it was still lacking in beef flavor. Also the chips that came with were very stale. You can tell they came from a bag that’s been left open all day.
Worst of all, the garlic bread was completely devoid of garlic. I basically got the equivalent of lightly toasted buttered bread for $10. The quality absolutely does not match the value. Do not waste your money. I paid $70 to try this place and I should have just gone to the gas station and got a frozen burrito & Snickers.
The delivery was timely and well done.
Chi Town): Loved the crust and pie, but didn’t get the temperature quite right (a bit cool despite a 40+ minute wait after we got there at the open). Not the most comfortable restaurant – more of a delivery pickup place which happens to have seats, not what one would expect of something located in a higher end mall.
In fairness I haven’t dined in the restaurant in probably 18 months, but I have picked up a number of par baked pizzas during that time.
I went in today for lunch and was a bit dumbfounded by the cost increases, quality drop off and the mediocre service. Not rude, but definitely not helpful or friendly. $7.25 for a small slice of cheese and $8.00 for an equally small slice of pepperoni?! The crust used to be better, used to be good actually. I would have gotten deep dish over this crust, but all they had was spinach and cheese… The bottom of the pizza I did get was undercooked, pale white, chewy. It used to be better. This was an embarrassment to Chicago pizza. It felt to me like they’re just coasting off the name and locals not knowing how cheap and mediocre it actually is now.
I’m not sure if this place has actually fallen off, or if they just don’t try when it comes to lunch service anymore. But at these prices, I’m not buying a whole pizza to find out. If you have to raise prices to keep up with costs and everything, I get that. Frankly I don’t even mind paying more if it means good quality and good service, but i didn’t see that today. Shrinking the sizes, lowering quality and massively increasing prices? Not worth it anymore.
After 20 years, I won’t be back.
They are usually very generous with the toppings and the cheese, and the Pizza’s never disappoint.
Those Pizzas are very thick and large (good thing), so take that into account when deciding on the size of Pizza to order. The personal ones can be shared by two.
It can take them 40 minutes at least to prepare those thick Pizzas, which you should take into account as well.
Their restaurant is not that big, it has a small amount of tables or sitting options and the place is usually packed. It can also be very loud sitting inside.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
Just be prepared to wait about 40 minutes after placing your order.
I wasn’t sure about being seated in the “back room”. However, it’s a little quieter and our server was the best!
