I’ve called the customer service line to report her but I know cookout highly values their customers and any review of footage or audio will confirm I did nothing wrong or even in anger.
Just had this happen two months ago at the Mauldin location and I guess she’s working at this location now. Managers, please note: I came through your driver’s side window line at about 3:35pm on Tuesday Jan 20, with no one behind me and when I was asked what I wanted to order, I responded by saying, Hi how are you? Silence. Then again the”Welcome to cookout what would you like to order?” This happens again so i turned to my daughter and quietly said, Is this the same woman we ran into at cookout in Mauldin? Then, to give her the benefit of the doubt that she just hadn’t heard me, I asked her if she could hear me. Her response? She semi-yelled, “I can hear you I’m right here”. I calmly, and with some slight shock at this response, told her “You seem really hostile I’m going somewhere else”. No apology, no explanation, no effort to make it right, she just said something like “ok” and I backed out and left.
Who did you guys recently get from Mauldin because I literally can’t believe you’ve hired two people who become openly hateful when politely asked how they are. I always have a great time with your employees, and we all eat here a lot, but you’re going to lose us and other people who value service if you let her treat customers like this. But maybe you have hired two, in which case the date, time and location should help you address the issue.
Just a heads up. Anyway my three children and I are hungry cause I was on my way somewhere and it took all the time I had to get yelled and leave so I didn’t have to face her hostility.
(pic of negative Mauldin review, you’ll see the similarity)
I left my name and number with the customer service line. I’d appreciate knowing when she can apologize to myself and my children, or when she no longer works there, so we can return without fear of a repeat.

Cook Out is a reliable commodity. Their food, for what it may lack, is always serviceable and will fill you up. Their tray deal is truly a “deal”. You get a good bang for your buck no doubt. When they have lines around the block, down the highway or wrapped around the building a couple of times, the quality of the food suffers though it is still in a good range for the money for sure. Their milkshakes are so thick they serve them with a straw and a spoon – mostly you will want to use the spoon else you run the risk of causing your head to cave in. They are delicious and they are the primary reason I am such a frequent customer. Check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

If you get chicken fingers as a meal beware of their size. They are extremely small! Food is ok gor the price. Not a lot of fries or cheese bites when you order them in a tray.

Rather than 9 nuggets there were 7. And the sides were “cajun” fries & cheese bites. The fries were not Cajun other than 5 of them and there were only 3 cheese bites. Unfortunately I did not know until I got home

I drive through always get exactly what ive ordered unless i get an extra something late @ night -likely from exhaustion or maybe, they just know me…I stop by there for at least as long as they’ve been there. Maybe a dozen or more years. Excellent STOP.
FRESH Burgers, great menu

We live close by, My husband and I stop by for late dinners some times. It is hit-or-miss in our experience. We’ve had things from cold cheescurds and fires to missing entire order of fried chicken. But usually things are pretty ok. Seems like quality is inconsistent and depends on who is working. Milkshakes always taste great. And ALWAYS double check you got your whole order before leaving parking lot. When it’s good its 9/10 when its not 3-5/10
The photo is a walking taco, smashed way way beyond lightly “crushed” . The burger was super bland and hardly any fries on my husbands plate. He had eaten 1 before the photo. One of the few bad ones. Will we go back? Probably yes. Will we double check everything? EVERY-TIME. They are good about fixing stuff if you ask( or catch it) this time we got all the way home before realizing and were to exhausted to go back but oh the disappointment

The chicken nuggets are my new found favy, but you can never go wrong with a cookout tray and and ice cold Cheerwine.
The service I received was great and didn’t have to wait in line for an extended amount of time.

Customer service is horrible. The MOD wasn’t willing to do anything. First of all I was charged double for my meal. Secondly I ordered lettuce on my chicken sandwich (which I videoed) and it didn’t cover even half of the sandwich plus it was heated and wilted. When I called the number online, it was the number to cooperate which didn’t even answer. When I rode back to the restaurant I was told I needed to have saved the ticket and call the store number (which was on the cup, and I had no reason to look on the cup for a number.) Needless to say nothing was done about being charged twice for a bland Cajun chicken sandwich with the smallest piece of wilted, heated up lettuce. I have the Managers name. Let’s see what she says (Megan). I will definitely be giving and update.

Have gone multiple times and without fail the food is never correct & belongs in a garbage can rather than served to paying customers. Honestly, serving a double burger as a single burnt charcoal puck that takes up 1/3 of the bun. Never again.

Love getting cookout for a late night dinner or dessert. You really can’t beat there five to six dollar boxes. It has to be the most food for your buck when compared to all the other fast food joints like it. And you would think the quality would be bad at that cheap but it isn’t. There tea, burgers and quesadillas are all amazing. If you somehow still haven’t been to a cookout or are new to the area you need to go.
