PS: My husband and I were there once before, and he accidentally gave more money than the bill, but the server was honest and returned the extra money. Such a great moral server, and quality work ethic, we gave her the rest of the money to show our appreciation. Love the place and the server. Definitely will come back.
It had been about three years since my last visit to IHOP, and I decided to give them another try. It was my brother’s birthday, and we wanted breakfast, so I took the whole family. Overall, I would rate this location around 3 stars, and here’s why:
Service – 3/5
Service was just okay. When we arrived, my wife asked for extra creamer, but she didn’t receive it until we asked a second time. When our food came out, the server asked if we wanted ketchup and hot sauce. We said yes to both, but she only brought the hot sauce. When we asked again for ketchup, she seemed annoyed by the request.
I also asked about the side of toast I had ordered. She asked if it was white toast, and I told her it was wheat. She eventually brought it, but the toast quality was disappointing—I can get better bread at Giant.
The worst part was my water. It had a slimy black object floating in it. When I pointed it out, the waitress didn’t seem concerned. She took the glass but never offered a replacement.
Food – 2.5/5
The food was bland. My brother and I ordered the Spicy Poblano Omelet with hash browns. Despite being labeled “spicy,” it wasn’t spicy at all. I enjoy spicy food, and this was the main reason I ordered it. Not only was it not spicy, but it lacked flavor to the point where I had to add salt just to make it enjoyable.
My wife ordered the French toast, which she said was pretty good. My son enjoyed his smily pancake, but my daughter didn’t finish her cheeseburger. Honestly, a McDonald’s cheeseburger tastes better.
Atmosphere – 4/5
We visited on a Sunday, so it was understandably busy. The dining area was quiet enough, but what stood out were the torn seats. You’d expect IHOP to pay attention to basic upkeep, but that didn’t seem to be the case here.
Overall Experience
Our visit was decent, but it reminded me why I stopped going to IHOP in the first place. Prices have gone up, and with higher prices, you expect better quality and better service—neither of which we experienced.
When I went to pay, I asked a server if they did anything for birthdays. She said our waitress would handle it and bring a birthday dessert. When the waitress came to take our payment, she didn’t mention anything about a birthday treat, and we never got to celebrate my brother’s birthday.
We still left a 20% tip, which we felt was generous given the experience. We usually tip more when service and food exceed expectations.
If you’re looking for good breakfast food, I’d recommend Waffle House or Silver Diner instead—they offer better flavor and better service.
I highly recommend the Spicy Poblano and double blueberry pancakes.
-FOOD is super delicious
-SERVICE is so attentive and polite! The personnel are super friendly
ATMOSPHERE: Super clean and the music is nice and low to have a good conversation!
We love everything about this place! We’ll definitely be back soon!
