Mariscos Chihuahua on Grande has been a favorite of mine for years. The camarones culichi and the ceviche are both standouts and never disappoint. The loud, colorful décor reminds me of Rocky Point, with bold, painted beach-themed walls that instantly set the mood.
If you’re looking for something fancy, this isn’t the place. But if you want great food with a true Sonoran beach vibe, this is absolutely the spot. It’s been a staple for me anytime I’m craving marisco-style food in Tucson, and I keep coming back for a reason.

We happened by Mariscos after another place we wanted to try closed on a Sunday at 2pm without us knowing and not being reported on Google. So Mariscos it was for a light lunch before an appointment at Ma Thai Massage, and we were glad of it. The complimentary chips were warm and salsa (tomatilla I think) fresh and cold. The Jamaica drink was so delicious and refreshing, not watered down at all. I had the guacamole; it didn’t contain cilantro which surprised me, but was still fresh and creamy. Hubby had fried shrimp tacos and the shrimp were plump and moist. Service was great as well.

We found this restaurant on Google Maps. Absolutely one unique outstanding place to have Mexican flavor seafood. It’s not your typical Mexican restaurant menu, but something so much more delightful. This is a hidden gem in the Tucson area. Five star quality!!

This place was busy! If you love seafood this is for you. I’m not a huge seafood fan, but I did order the beer battered fish tacos and they were really good. Everyone raved about the shrimp wrapped in bacon and cheese. Like I said if you like seafood this is for you. Now decorations here was interesting as you can see from my pictures. The staff absolutely fabulous very lovely group of employees.

We were excited to try this Mexican seafood restaurant since it had good reviews. It also has outdoor seating which was terrific since the weather was so nice and we wanted to avoid an onsite crowd. Strangely if you didn’t ask to sit outdoors you were seated indoors since they didn’t ask if you wanted to make a choice. We were the only ones on their spacious patio. While the Cameron Aguachiles came in a rather murky marinade, my husband enjoyed the shrimp. The fish tacos were quite tasty. Weird dining experience since they would check on us in long intervals. If you’re going to advertise outdoor dining then be prepared to serve your customers.

The food is beyond amazing. I tried 4 dishes and all of them are amazing. The fried sea bass was very fresh and delicious I wanted to huge it, and the chipotle mayonnaise, which came with it, was ammmmaaazing. The shrimp in the green sauce was very savory and spectacular. This hint of butter in it was the cherry on the cake. The fish soup was full of seafood and flavor. Actually, you can find octopus, fish, squid and fish inside it. Also, this milk cinnamon drink was very refreshing and appetizing. The only, flaw of the place is the lighting and the decoration which look very old.

Our first time here. We have eaten at over 30 of Tucson’s “best” Mexican restaurants, and this one now rates in our top five! I had the fillets with garlic and my wife had the chipotle camerones.

Delicious, fresh . We had a combination of seafood tacos and a fillete relleno stuffed with seafood. Both very tasty. Complimentary chips were light and warm, the salsa was flavorful. Margarita was a little sweet for my taste …but still very good. Musician played guitar, harmonica and flute instrument from Bolivia… nice ambience.
