I gave Js chicken a couple days notice for an order of a 100 pc mixed. I called day of to confirm they were still tracking and I needed it a bit sooner than forecasted. The people were attentive to my request. The 100 pc mixed fed so many people at my family’s function and for the price you just can’t beat it. As long as you realize their influx of orders can sometimes make wait times a bit longer (why you call ahead if placing a large one) you’ll be just fine. Chicken was great fresh cooked perfectly and everyone was sent home with leftovers. Major hit. Usually I order as a Kc fireman for the station but they still hooked it up as a civilian when it comes to consistency and taste. As long as you aren’t an inpatient rude person I don’t see how you could have a negative experience here. Well done! 5 stars

Ordered the 5.99 special(3 Piece Mixed Chicken and Fries)… it was the best fried chicken I’ve had that wasn’t homemade. The fries are already seasoned so no need for Lemon Pepper on them but still amazing. The food is Made to Order. We ate in the car and came back for a second plate to share. The food was still warm when we got home(20 minutes away) The downside is that they are carry out only.

This takeout on Prospect is clean. No place to eat inside but the chicken was fried very well and seasoned too. I recommend for a quick bite. Specials are great. Get a large order for a get together.

Horrible experience, people in front of us was repeating thereself bout what they wanted. The staff was very very young. I order 100 wings, I went to the online order window , no one came. I waited 5 minutes, the young girl finally came n was rude I ask for hot sauce she looked at me like I was stupid. She gave me 12 packs of hot sauce for 100 wings. We live 25minutes away and to be treated like this.. We get home and eat the wings and they HAD NOT PUT EXTRA SEASONING LIKE I ORDERED… THE WINGS HAD A AFTER TASTE LIKE stale cooking oil..WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS JAYS CHICKEN 135.00 FOR 100 WINGS. NOTTTTT WORTH IT, ESPECIALLY THE YOUNG GIRLS AT THE WINDOW WHO WAS RUDE.. LUNA’S CHICKEN IS BETTER

I’ve never had better chicken wings. Sounds exaggerated, but chicken is my number one and I’m critical of the process by which its cooked. J’s wings are transcendent. Pretty sure the spice topping is lemon-pepper and brown sugar. So good it makes me feel dumb.

ordered the 2 piece catfish combo, hush puppies, and peach cobbler. Was pleasantly surprised with the combo as I read some reviews while waiting and was apprehensive. Decent portions/sizes and seasoning was so good! 4 stars because peach cobbler was just alright

Don’t waste your money. Don’t know if this establishment is under new management or what, but the food ain’t what it used to be. The shrimp are not “large” as mentioned on their menu, they were overcooked over-seasoned, and rubbery. The fish pieces were small, overly seasoned, overcooked, with way too much batter, which was so hard we could barely bite into it. The only thing good about this meal were the fries. One star rating is over-rated!!! Let the pics speak for themselves. Won’t be back!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I usually have nor problem ordering from Js on 31st but this one in the 50’s is a no go. I do not recommend. They use extremely smaller portions than the other restaurant for the same amount I called the owner and he basically side he didn’t care. He wanted to argue with me on the phone about the quality of my food instead of actually helping me in any way. I would never spend my money here again and I suggest you don’t either.

Pretty good chicken. Usual hood chicken spot but this one is a little above the rest. Prices are reasonable. Very clean. Nice staff. This one has bulletproof protective glass. While I certainly understand why, my sentiment is if you don’t feel safe in the neighborhood maybe try somewhere else. I tend to not shop at or patron establishments such as this but I’d say when I actually do visit this location, the food is great.
