This one in particular was awful though.
I ordered the 2 Chicken Breast and subbed my fries for the soup of the day which the server said was broccoli cheddar. My meal came out and I was disgusted that they would even serve this.
First of all that is not 2 chicken breasts. And the soul was chicken noodle, the server never came back to ask if the change was okay , or if I wanted to sub something else in. We brought up the issue about the chicken not being what was on the menu and they just brought a plate of two more pieces of sliced chicken and a Caesar salad to replace the soup since I wouldn’t have opted for chicken noodle had that been communicated.
My husband asked for his steak to be just under medium , he likes rare but we know most restaurants have trouble with that. He got a well done steak. So the did eventually bring him another but this was after already being in this restaurant for a very long time waiting on food.
The service was slow and for it not being super busy I was surprised at the lack of attention from the server. I honestly don’t know why I keep trying to give Chucks a chance even in different cities, it’s always been 100% disappointing.
I ordered 16 wings and clearly asked for hot sauce on the side. When the food arrived, the wings were already mixed with the sauce. When I politely mentioned the mistake, the server first said that I never asked for the sauce on the side, and then changed her response and said she didn’t hear me say it. I am confident that I clearly requested it. She then agreed to replace the order but said, “Anyway this is going to garbage, so you guys can have it.” That comment felt very unprofessional and made the situation uncomfortable.
Because of this interaction, I didn’t feel comfortable continuing the meal and asked if I could cancel the remaining order and just pay for what we already had. Another staff member, who appeared to be a manager or kitchen supervisor, told me I could not cancel the order. I ended up paying and was given the food as takeout.
I understand mistakes happen in busy restaurants, but customer service and communication matter. This experience left me and my friends feeling unwelcome and disappointed.
The ambiance is cozy and welcoming with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The cocktails are fantastic not only delicious but beautifully presented every time!
My personal go-to is the Strawberry Pecan Salad it is absolutely delicious and never disappoints. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.
Chuck’s in Cambridge is definitely one of my favorite spots when in Cambridge . Highly recommend!
The nachos were absolutely amazing — loaded with toppings and perfectly done. The mozzarella sticks were crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, and came out super fresh. Everything arrived so quickly, and Niki made sure we had everything we needed without even having to ask.
If you’re heading to Chuck’s in Cambridge, definitely ask for Niki P — top-notch service and a great dining experience!
the service was fine, certainly nothing to write home about. didn’t seem overly attentive, made us pay out early because evidently they were understaffed so they needed our server in the kitchen instead of waiting on our table. i don’t really hold that against him, more his boss who can’t seem to hire more people despite the labour crisis we’re experiencing in this country.
whatever; it is what it is.
atmosphere was also mediocre. the tables seemed fairly well kept, but the amount of fruit flies heading to the washroom and in the washroom were frankly disgusting.
and best for last, the food. pictured is the chicken and rib combo (described as a chicken breast and half-rack of ribs served with fries and crh sauce) with the saddest morsels of chicken i think i’ve ever seen. that, and no crh sauce to be found. taste wise everything was fine, but the fries were also incredibly overcooked.
pictured also is the new york steak cooked “medium rare” (or at least their very rare excuse for medium rare). they loaded so much “seasoning” on my partners steak that he had to scrape most of it off in order for the salt content to actually be palatable.
they also never send out enough flatbread for the spinach dip, so i advise that you request more in advance when ordering.
not to mention the price tag of $90
for an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert? i understand inflation, but for a chain that charges an additional fee to “keep quality high and price low”, they don’t seem to deliver on either of those promises.
not impressed to say the least.
