I had high expectations for Teka Molino. The online reviews led me to believe this was going to be a memorable San Antonio Mexican food experience. It was memorable but, unfortunately, not in a favorable way.

I was prepared for it being a very casual venue where you order at the counter and pick it up at the counter when they call your name. But I expected the food to be sufficiently tasty and appealing to make up for the lack of table side service.

It wasn’t.

To be fair, the food was not offensive. It just wasn’t anything special. I’ve had better Mexican food at Taco Cabana (and that is not a particularly high bar)!

Stopped by because I remember trying this place YEARS ago and was in the area. I got the #20 with puffy tacos and two tamales on the side. The food was delicious! The puffy tacos were flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly juicy. A little greasy from the fried cheese taco, but the flavor was great! I wish the salsa was a little spicier but overall it was a great stop and somewhere I will return to! There was no wait to order and the food was out within 10-15 minutes.

Everything looked good, food needs more flavor though I saw a post about this place on tiktok and wanted to try. Puffy tacos tasted more like regular crunchy tacos. It was not the normal texture of a puffy taco it was like hard and crunchy. My husband said the food was bland and he’s usually not picky. Service was fast! Place was welcoming and clean. Everyone was friendly.

Best little spot to grab delicious food. Sometimes it’s busy and they’re not as fast, like lunch time… but still reasonable wait.

Favorites: huevos rancheros, quesadillas (beef fajita), chicken enchiladas, flautas, chips/salsa, corn/flour tortillas are both very good here.

Good, but not our favorites: beef enchiladas, rice and beans are ok

Food was well seasoned but nothing special. I wanted the Chile relleno but they were out. I got the Big Teka plate. Just didn’t do anything special for me. Give them a try. Big portions. It’s a great value as far as price for what you get. Staff were friendly. Place is very clean and well maintained.

Definitely try the puffy tacos! They are absolutely loaded with juicy shredded chicken (beef is available, too). I also loved the bean and cheese taco. And the guacamole cup is the perfect start to whatever you order!

I want to say I loved it. I just can’t. My Neice and I came here last night for dinner. The service was great but the food was so-so. The first thing you notice when walking in is the overpowering sewer smell. We should have walked out right then, but we were both hungry. We ordered at the front, got our drinks, and my Neice picked a booth by the window. There were flies. There were probably 16 flies all over the window sill. Some were dead (one squished on the window), and the rest were trying to escape…Probably from the smell. We stayed and ate as fast as we could. No flies tried to land on our food. Again, they were probably trying to escape the horrible sewer. Will I go back? Unfortunately, no.

This place is the exact Tex Mex experience we were looking for; friendly staff, excellent food, clean environment and reasonable prices. It’s hard to find this type of unique experience. When you look up Tex Mex places to eat this little gem doesn’t pop up. Instead you get places with nice patios, overpriced, mediocre food and pretentious clientele. The person taking our order told us the puffy tacos were there specialty so we decided to try something else. If there something else was delicious we’d come back for the puffy tacos. We ordered mole enchiladas and chicken fajitas. The mole was well balanced and the fajitas were very tasty! We’ll be back without a doubt. Thank you TM for keeping it real and serving great food!

Well portioned and reasonably priced, que mas quieres papa. I came for the breakfast and was not disappointed. Migas plate was awesome, it comes a la mexicana with cheese. We’ll be back often.
