To Asheville & Beyond (To Asheville & Beyond)
Birdie’s Pizza in downtown Asheville is next-level pizza craftsmanship. From the moment the pie hits the table, you can tell this place takes pizza seriously. The crust has that perfect balance—crispy on the outside, light and chewy on the inside—and the ingredients are clearly high quality and thoughtfully paired.
Every slice feels like it was made with intention. The flavors are bold, fresh, and incredibly satisfying without being overdone. It’s the kind of pizza that reminds you how good simple ingredients can be when they’re handled by people who truly know what they’re doing.
Downtown Asheville has a lot of great food, but Birdie’s stands out as a true pizza destination. If you’re a pizza lover, this spot absolutely belongs on your must-visit list.
Highly recommend.

Neat little space downtown Asheville. The service was extremely attentive and I thought both pizzas I tried one had meat on it with the Honey drizzle. The other was their most popular cheese pesto pizza. Both were excellent! Meatballs flew off the table with the group I was with so I’m assuming they were good. Had a really nice whiskey shower cocktail before I ate. Definitely one of my favorite pizzas I’ve had since I’ve been to Asheville.

Birdie’s Pizza is one of those places that immediately earns a spot on your must-return list.
From the moment you walk in, the service is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming – the kind that makes you feel like they’re excited you’re there, not just doing their job. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between laid-back and thoughtfully curated: inviting, unpretentious, and exactly what you want after a day exploring Asheville.
And the food? Exceptional. You can taste the quality of the fresh ingredients in every bite. The flavors are bold, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. As someone who’s often skeptical of gluten-free pizza, I was especially blown away – the gluten-free crust is hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had. Crisp, flavorful, and satisfying in a way that’s all too rare.
If you’re visiting Asheville, or lucky enough to live nearby, Birdie’s Pizza is an absolute must. Come hungry, leave happy, and plan to come back.

Asheville Foodies got this one right so thank you! A fellow northerner here that 100% appreciates a true slice. The love comes through with flavor, the hard work is tasted in that sourdough crust which is my gosh delicious! The addition of carmelized onion on the white, the cutlet on the river both so perfect.
Order the fries. Dip the fry. Eat the fry. You’re welcome!
What a pleasure meeting and talking with the owners Christine & Justin. Support our small business owners!
Birdie’s is officially our local pizza joint!
Update: Had Birdie’s a second time & in fact the pizza is legit! Thank you Birdie’s!

I’m a pizza snob and this is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!! This was our first time here and now I wish we lived near Asheville! We chatted with the owner for quite a bit and learned a lot about why it’s SO GOOD!!! He said they make their own sourdough crust out of organic flour and use all fresh and organic ingredients! They also hand stretch the mozzarella for the pizza! The desserts are also out of this world!! One of the cooks said “the boss lady” is a culinary dessert chef and there are different homemade desserts every day. Today they had brownies and brown butter chocolate chip cookies. We got one of each and then went back and got a second brownie for our drive to Tennessee tomorrow. I can’t recommend this place enough!! It is SO GOOD!!!

Got a whole pie last week. Phenomenal!! Stopped in for a slice of the Duke (all meat with hot honey drizzle) and the meatball app. I ate the meatballs without remembering to get a pic but they are excellent, the marinara is heartburn free, and they serve it with toast points and a whipped ricotta.
Great food and even better people.

I want to personally thank Birdie’s for being open to ensure nearby hotel patrons, hospital workers and those that are stuck in this Jan 2026 winter storm had a warm spot and great food to eat. My family and I are beyond appreciative for you efforts….
AND the pizza was amazing.
We’ll be back!!!

I was told this was NY style pizza, so I had to try it. It was kinda close. The crust really reminded me of NY style. The pizza was thin, which I love. The sauce missed the mark for me. Thought it was a little bland. And the cheese was okay. That being said, and me being a total pizza snob, I’d go back. I did like it. The staff was super nice, too. It was a beautiful day, so I sat outside. Had a pleasant experience.

Best pizza I have had in a long time! Originally from Boston and live in Charlotte. Came to Asheville for a day trip and so happy we stumbled upon this pizza shop. The family who owns it is so kind and we got to see them all in town during the Thanksgiving holiday! Portions are huge my parents and I had a large pizza and still had two slices leftover to have the next day for dinner. Two slices and you are good to go! Best pizza we’ve had and can’t wait to come during our next Asheville visit!
