Rustic atmosphere, wooden walls and ceiling. We sat by the window, which was nice to see pretty lights. Food was delicious. We ordered steak, lobster, and scallops; crusted cod and shrimp from the prefixed valentines menu. Good portions unfortunately we had 8:00 p.m. reservation so the shrimp and crab cocktails were already unavailable.

I’ve been wanting to check out the Pines Resort in Bass Lake for a while, so we stopped here yesterday to grab a bite before heading to Yosemite. The atmosphere was super festive, they’re already fully decked out for Christmas and it definitely put us in a cozy holiday mood.

We arrived around 1:30 PM hoping to dine at Ducey’s on the Lake since they have more food options, but were disappointed to learn they don’t open until 4 PM. If you’re heading here with the same plan, definitely double-check their business hours. Thankfully, Ducey’s Bar & Grill is located just upstairs and still offers that gorgeous Bass Lake view.

We grabbed seats at the bar, and Andrea was our bartender/server. She was friendly, personable, and took great care of us. Their menu is a step above your typical bar food. Here’s what we ordered:

Bang Bang Shrimp – This came out heavily battered, deep fried, and extremely salty. Not what we were expecting for a Bang Bang Shrimp dish.
Ahi Tuna Bowl – My order, and it was just okay. The mango salsa was good and paired nicely with the tuna.
Fish + Fries – My boyfriend chose the cod and enjoyed his dish.

Overall, it was still a pleasant experience. We walked past the chalets afterward and thought it would be fun to stay in one someday. Definitely another reason to come back.

Loved my Reuben sandwich with Tator Tots! Hard Cider was refreshing! My husband had fish and chips. Fries were a little under done and he requested crispy. Service was excellent and the food came out in about 10 minutes. Prices were average, but the patio view of Bass Lake priceless!

The food is fabulous and you get to sit on the deck in the sun and watch the lake and all the scenery and birds. Super nice staff. Clean restrooms too and lots of free parking.

Since the very first time my family and I came to this restaurant on Mother’s Day, we’ve been completely blown away. The staff here are truly amazing, they’re so kind, welcoming, and always make us feel like part of their family. Every time we visit, they go above and beyond to make sure our experience is perfect.

The food is always delicious! And the view of the lake just makes everything even more special. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy great food, and make memories with loved ones.

Thank you for always giving us such great service and beautiful moments to remember.

OK, you’ve already been told now Bass Lake is our little heaven on earth. We especially love going up in late February or early March, catching some snow for the kids to play and just having a relaxing weekend.

Every time we visit, we find ourselves at Ducey’s at least once mostly for lunch. The food is great and service is phenomenal. They have lots of beers on tap and a great signature drink list to choose from. The wifey‘s go to is Ducey’s sunset, and of course me being a rather hefty guy obviously I like my beer. I usually grab a solid IPA.

You can’t go wrong with anything you choose off the menu, but the last several times we’ve been we are digging the MEXICAN POUTINE (Fries | Birria | White Chili Con Queso Fresco | Pico De Gallo | Guacamole| Jalapeno |Roasted Pablano Crema| Chipotle Aioli | Roasted Salsa) they’re yummy. Beware though if you split these between two people and you have a drink or two (especially a tall heavy beer) you’re probably not gonna need much else to eat and whatever else you order is likely going back to the room for later.

Next time you’re in Bass Lake or even if you wanna drive up to the mountains for a nice lunch, check out Ducey‘s on the lake you won’t be sorry!

Every seat had a beautiful view of the water. Our waitress was sweet and very attentive. This is definitely a higher price point with plates priced at $30 -$50. We did not feel rushed and the food was delicious. I got the Filet Mignon with bernaise, ginger green beans and the bacon Mac and cheese. Surprisingly my favorite part of the dish was the green beans. So diffrent and delicious.

Top tier steaks and dinner here! Booked a special reservation here to celebrate our engagement. I had a plate of Ribeye 12oz with cabernet Demi glaze with a side of salad, parmesan garlic fries + Mac n’ cheese. My fiancee had the surf n turf with a side of Mac n’ cheese and salad.

Additionally wanted to give a shoutout to the waitress who took a photo of our big day on the deck upstairs! You’re an MVP! These photos came out wonderful!

This should be a 5-star review, but the process to get a table was chaos. Here’s what I emailed the manager, but after 2 weeks, I have had no response.

We arrived just after 10:15 (for a 10:15 reservation), and there were 2 other groups in front of us waiting to check in, plus a large party (6) that were waiting for their table. After approximately 7 or 8 minutes, one of the parties waiting to check in simply left. They were there before us and stated they had not seen a host yet. A few minutes later, an employee came and grabbed something from behind the desk and then walked away. No greetings to those who were waiting. Or questions if we’d been helped. Then, after perhaps another 10ish minutes, we saw for the 1st time who we discovered was the host.

He talked with the party of 6 and offered them a couple of choices (2 tables side by side or a corner booth). He then walked off and returned a few minutes later. He proceeded to seat that family, and a couple minutes later, he returned to the host table. He then confirmed that the couple ahead of us would like a table and told them, “Give me 2 seconds,” and walked off. He came back a few minutes later and seated them. He returned to us. (While he was helping the couple in front of us, I noticed a short stack of pancakes sitting on the hostess table, which I found odd. It would be really off-putting to walk into a restaurant and see a host eating at the host table…)

I confirmed that we had a reservation (which I could actually see on the computer screen) but said it probably doesn’t matter at this point. (It was approximately 20 minutes after we arrived, and certainly after the 10 minute hold time I read via Open Table.) He quickly had a team clean a wonderful window front table and sat us down. The table view was wonderful! Prudence was our server, and I must state that she did an excellent job! She was welcoming, understanding of our allergies, and attentive. Keep her!

We ordered a couple of Bloody Mary’s (1 standard and 1 All The Way) to start with, and then also ordered our breakfast options (CFC for me, Eggs Benne for my wife–BOTH were delicious and presented well!). It did take a while for our drinks to arrive, and we could see that there was a single bartender. She was doing her best to keep up with what I imagined were several orders.

Because of our location (2nd window from the east at the bottom of the steps), we could see everyone coming in. There was another table of 2 who were sat 2 tables after us that received their breakfast approximately 10 minutes before we received ours. That was disappointing to see, knowing we were sat and ordered before them.

Again, this should be a 5-Star review. But there was a serious lack of leadership in the chaos f getting sat and timing of orders. With some direction, acknowledgement of patrons, and a bit of organization, it would be an exceptional experience!
