Hubby had a burger, son had BBQ shrimp, and I had the special, pork collar with pickled cauliflower. We were all very happy. Pork collar had undertones of star anise, was cooked until soft and silky, and the cauliflower s was curried and pickled.

My 3rd time to NOLA and wanted to try a few places off the beaten path. Food was great as was the service! Parking was plentiful across the street.

My favorite thing on the menu is the fried catfish with pimento Mac and cheese. It also comes with house made pickles and hush puppies. Sometimes I get one of the daily specials. The watermelon and crab salad didn’t disappoint! Pictured is the kids catfish and Mac. Love their seasonal lemonades as well which you can always get spiked if you want. Just a nice spot that consistently has good food.

Restaurant with mostly locals.Danni, our server was friendly & fantastic. We tried the 4 BBQ shrimp (with heads intact) first for this non-coastal couple, surprisingly good. My wife had the Wedge & deemed it excellent, I had the Cecil salad with chicken, it was average but filling. Followed it up with pumpkin pie with a generous amount of whipped topping. An enjoyable dinner at a small, quaint restaurant with local atmosphere. We would go back.

Really cool restaurant! Great atmosphere. Looks like it was an old jazz bar or something with some of the original signage and decor displayed. Food was delicious! We ate from the brunch menu that included biscuits and gravy and chicken and waffles. Menu included other New Orleans classics including muffaletas, poboys, gumbo, etc. Attentive service, good atmosphere and vibe, short wait time, clean, and awesome food. Can’t ask for more from a restaurant in NOLA. Finding a place to park was the hardest part but that’s typical for everything in New Orleans.

We had lunch at the High Hat Cafe on Feret Street and were very pleased. The atmosphere is simple and laid back, casual and inviting. My wife really enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich and my salad was great. The service was very friendly and attentive. This was an all around good experience and we will return.

The High Hat Cafe was okay, worth another try. I saw the restaurant about 3-6 months ago and wanted to give it a try. I scoped it out online and thought the menu looked good. Pimento cheese, which I love, is hard to find around here, and several menu items included it. I ordered the vegetable plate so I could try a few items as a meal. I really enjoyed the ginger-rosemary tea, but there were no free refills. The vegetable plate included 3 sides and cornbread. Well, I love cornbread and pimento cheese, so my hopes were high. I ordered stewed tomatoes & okra, pimento cheese grits, and pimento Mac & cheese. I thought the pimento cheese was going to be cooked in the grits and macaroni, but there was only a little smattered on top. The pimento cheese did taste pretty good, but the grits and macaroni were bland. They needed a little salt or butter and definitely more pimento cheese. The cornbread wasn’t the sweet kind, thankfully, but it too was kind of flavorless. The food looked a lot better than it tasted. I’m still going to try it again. I have high hopes for the High Hat Cafe.

Party of 4 on a Saturday morning and we were greeted/seated promptly. Friendly service overall but I think it was weird to offer honey with the hot tea and not disclose that you charge for the honey.
The food was fresh, hot and crispy. The poboy bread is probably one of the best breads I’ve had with a poboy ever! Some salt on the pork would’ve made it perfect but the fried chicken was sooo crispy and juicy. We enjoyed our experience for sure! Thank you!
