Stopped into Nick’s because my parents have always raved about how good and reasonably priced it is. I’ve been there a handful of times myself, and every visit has been a great experience.
The food is consistently good, served hot and fresh, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. You really can’t beat the prices for the quality and portion sizes — it’s refreshing to find a diner that still feels like a value.
The only “issue,” if you can even call it that, is that it’s usually pretty busy. But honestly, that just proves how good it is. Hard to complain about a packed house when it means you’ve found a great diner with reasonable prices!

The food is absolutely delicious! Found this gem by luck stopping for food off the highway. Best Reuben sandwich I’ve had. Place is very clean and updated, staff is friendly and service is quick with reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

The coffee some of the best diner coffee I’ve had in a minute, and the food was very well priced and tasty. Got the two eggs plate and it did everything I needed it to to have a great day. Service was awesome, and sitting at the bar was the right call to have a great chat with some of the regulars. Will most definitely be back!!

The veggie omelette was great. They seem to put onions in the potatoes though, which isn’t stated on the menu, so for those who don’t like onion or don’t digest it well, make sure you say no onions. The only gluten free option is a wrap, so more options for those gluten free would bring more business I’m sure. They cook the avocado into the omelettes instead of laying it on top which is a bit odd, so be aware of that if ordering an omelette with avocado.

Been coming out here for years and I’m upset I never ate here until today. The food was amazing everything was cooked exactly how I wanted it no mistakes no attitudes just pure warmth and love from the food to the service. Great breakfast place and a longtime staple of west haven. I’ve been going to Nick’s since I was a kid and it was on 1st Avenue. It’s always been one of the best breakfasts places around. They have a large menu and the prices are pretty good. Always very busy, but for good reason. Give them a shot.

The food was delicious, we ordered the tomato and spinach eggs Benedict and the pastrami sandwich, which was accompanied by potatoes, it was an excellent choice!!
The place is completely clean and organized, our waitress was Linda, she was very kind, she gave us an excellent experience. We stopped by to eat on the recommendation of a friend, we are heading to Boston and we took the opportunity to try this delicious food!

The food was good but not great. The reason for the low review was because we were overcharged. We got Nick’s hearty breakfast with french toast and the bacon avocado cheddar omelette. If the service wouldn’t have been so bad this place would be half way good.

Decent diner food. Not the best for breakfast for my family. Maybe lunch would be better. Our pancakes were very basic. In todays world of great coffee to be found in most place, this place misses the boat on decent coffee.
