Great food. Reasonable pricing. Ample portions too! Early bird special was so good. 2 eggs, crispy hash browns, fresh fruit, coffee and a huge pancake was under $10. Service was friendly and a really nice atmosphere. They beautiful sell art from a local artist too.

This place has been a breakfast icon in the Kalamazoo area since I was a kid. Just went back this morning (probably 25 yrs. later) and it’s still amazing! The food was absolutely delicious (not greasy at all), I loved the menu items offered, the service was top-shelf, and the place was clean as can be! Definitely going to start coming back again!!

Uncle Ernie’s is a great place to eat breakfast. The buckwheat pancakes are delicious and can sometimes be hard to find elsewhere. I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service at Uncle Ernie’s. It’s a great spot to grab a bite to eat and has an old school, neighborhood diner feeling. I can’t recommend it enough.

The place was pretty well packed but we were seated immediately in a booth. The blueberry lemon pancakes (special) was very bright, fluffy, and perfectly sweet with a lovely kick from the lemon tart. We also enjoyed the 1/2 nash’s hash (special) and recommend the corn beef if you enjoy the meaty flavor. Lovely service from Lisa, we will definitely be coming back again.

I got the 1/2 double barrel hash, it was okay. It didn’t have too much flavor and needed more seasonings. I also got an order of pancakes, never in my life had I ever had a pancake that was cooked but felt raw. It was just so dense, most of the time pancakes are light and fluffy but these were not.

I have been going here for about 6 years I always get the fresh corned beef hash and eggs. It’s absolutely delicious it’s not from the can. Today I got home with my regular to go and for my friend. It did not have onions or seasoning just by looking at it I knew it wasn’t right. First time I wasn’t satisfied with the order. I took the food and called them they apologized and said they’d have a new order for me when I got there. I was really impressed with the cooks customer service. He apologized again and made sure I knew that they were about having happy customers. He even said I could take the old food if i wanted because they were just going to throw it away. He didn’t hassle me or make me feel like I was the one that messed up he handled the situation perfect. If he didn’t I wouldn’t of been back. I used to work In food service for years In the kitchen and even as waitress. I know what good service is supposed to be behind the kitchen and in the front. I just looked at the bad reviews for this place. In uncle Ernie’s defense if you have a problem with your food and aren’t satisfied don’t be passive and just write a bad review. If you tell them your arnt satisfied…unlike like some resturants uncle Ernie’s will make it right.

I do try the other places but the coffee and food is always the best here. The people are always nice, they don’t give you the look with no smile, and I like the happiness!

Great little hole in the wall. Awesome food and great service. It is a busy place (especially on a Sunday) pancakes were very good and the homemade corned beef hash was very tasty. Everything was served hot…like really hot. The servers all help each other out to make this place run quite well.
