Ed’s Catfish is definitely worth the extra stars! In the past I’ve picked up my order and been impressed by their fish, but being a Ron’s Catfish diner that is where I would return to. HOWEVER……the price and ridiculous buffet food (egg rolls, Chinese dumplings, etc) at Ron’s was just becoming , well just that, ridiculous. I was particularly paying for fish house food so to speak. So we decided to go dine in at Ed’s Catfish. My goodness what had I been thinking all this time??? We have been overpaying for the same food, but the fish at Ed’s is actually bigger fillets and we didn’t walk out smelling like we’d been cooked in the oil with it!! Honestly I can’t tell you enough about this comparison. Do not be fooled by what you hear in this town. The fish at Ed’s Catfish is AMAZING! I thought the first night was a fluke so I held off on my review. We’ve been 3 times so far. The same EXACT food bar as Ron’s!! You’re not get overcharged, Ed’s offers a MILITARY DISCOUNT (which I always thought was petty of Ron’s to not do), and the restaurant is CLEAN and you walk out smelling CLEAN. Give it a try if you haven’t yet.

Happy New Year 2026 Adventurez!

The expensive Crab Legs kept up with the Birthday Wish on the 13th of January.

Keep Em Coming!
Crack! Oh my eye!
So glad it missed!
The shell of the crab actually landed across the table on my sleeve.
The Juices ran all over the Birthday Girl:
Hand arm sleeve Mouth Jaw making a Sweet taste on a Birthday wish…

Keep ‘Em coming… Crabs Came. Ed’s Catfish did not disappoint. Hot Butter and Lemon completed the wish.

The walls were bare. The glass window facing Highland was the center piece. One can see figures through the glass. Allowing your mind a moment to fill in the missing pieces.

Everyone. Nice! Excuse Me. Would you like some Steak? Anything else?

This was a quiet environment. Upon exiting, we were surprised to see so many groups of customers enjoying their meals.

Thanks for Keeping ’em Coming!

I read some bad reviews on this place and I went to eat there just to see if the stories are true. I ordered the all you can eat crab legs and I got all I wanted and even the owners helped service me. We had a great dinner and we got full. The crab legs were great and the buffet was fresh and good. So for the bad reviews I am not sure what they are talking about and I disagree with them and they should be removed.

The food is good, the service at the front desk is good. But the place is always noisy, which is typical for a buffet style restaurant.
That’s why I call in my food order for pickup. Then eat at home, where I feel more comfortable.

The catfish is really rough, not sure how they mess it up so bad but it is hardly seasoned and consistently old. The worst part you are given a strict time limit and if you order crab legs you are forced to wait 30min between servings. So they are only able to serve you 3 times. Ownership is very rude and I witnessed him and the server being very mean to a family who was trying to celebrate an event.

I went on a weekday. It was not too busy and the staff was exceptional. Great choices on the buffet. Everything was fresh and even better they were announcing hot items from the kitchen and bringing the items by our table, even hot cookies. 11 am to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. are the buffet times. 2-4 p.m. menu only. $19.95 buffet and WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Good place to get some fried catfish and they offer meals or an all-you-can-eat buffet. They offer it filleted or steaks, if you prefer those. I also like their frog legs. They have all the sides that go with a plate of catfish and they are all good. They offer some barbecue items like pulled pork and ribs but I prefer to stick with the fish and other seafood items when visiting. The staff has always been friendly too.

I brought my grandson out to eat for his birthday and he wanted to make sure that I left a 5 star review. He said the fish was great!!! I loved it!! It was freshly cooked, the hushpuppies were cooked perfectly and so were the French fries!! Definitely no disappointment here, we will be back!!!

The worst call in experience ever. They want you to either go thru drive thru and wait or call in give your payment over the phone and walk in. Absolutely no way to get your food quickly even if you call in because you have to take time to park and go in OR you’re forced to wait behind someone in drive thru who didn’t call in. I know people love this place but when you have an ill person you’re trying to feed by a certain time? This place doesn’t work.

My family and I go to Jonesboro a few times a year and we like to eat at Ed’s or Ron’s, if we are there on the weekend. My mom, my daughter, and I went to Jonesboro on a shopping trip today and we decided to eat at Ed’s. We skipped lunch and we arrived at Ed’s about 3:15. I noticed that they did not have very much food put out. They have 2, approximately 16 to 20 long foot food bars, and 3/4 of it had food with very few salad bar items. I asked what time they were serving dinner and the waitress said 4:00. I told her that we would be back at 4:00 and she was very nice about that. I didn’t know if they had the same thing all day Saturday or not when we arrived (lots of places do), and I did not want to pay $70 for three people to eat with so very few food choices. I tried calling ahead to see what their hours were and what was on their buffet off and on for an hour and their phone was busy. So, we left and came back at 4:00. When we arrived, we were seated and the waitress took our drink order and came back with them and did not say anything else. So, my daughter and I went to the salad bar side of the buffet and the waitress that seated us the first time walked over to us and very hatefully told us that the food was not ready until 4:00. I told her that we already left and came back and my watch said 4:01. The same food items were on the food bars as before, and the cooks had already brought food out. She made my daughter feel like we should put our food back and she asked me if she should. I told her that we would just sit down and wait a few more minutes. I wanted to say more, but I kept my mouth shut. We should have left again and went somewhere else because That Was So Rude!!! When they brought us our drinks to the table the waitress should have told us not to go to the food bar until 4:05 or until they told us it was ready… or, there should have been a sign that says “Don’t get your food until told”. Totally ruined my mood for hours. Their food is pretty good. They could improve their salad bar. And, they really need to hire nicer waitresses! Being talked to like that was a total turn off to their restaurant. We won’t be back for a long time.
