338pm ordered 410pm got my food. Lg meat spaghetti Lg Cheesy bread and a Sandwich the spaghetti is very limited on sauce. Too dry!!. It had plenty of cheese on top. But once you dig in it was nothing but noodles very little meat sauce. I called and I was told I would have to wait until Tuesday to talk to the owner. After having e different people on the home The manager on duty was very rude and hung up on me when I asked why I have to wait until Tuesday I never heard such a thing. Having to wait 4 days to get my order fixed.

This place has always been one of my family’s favorite places to eat. We would always get a pizza or two for birthdays or on Friday nights when it was possible. The food has always been good. This week was the first time I have had pizza from here in a long time. It was delicious. I also tried my first meatball grinder, and it tasted even better. I try to support locally as much as I can.

I am a first-timer…and I just had to share my experience!! I tried the Extra Special Pizza and it was so FRESH and DELICIOUS! The owner was so kind and pleasant. You can actually see the workers making the fresh pizzas and Grinders. The pizza was baked to perfection. I also ordered a Large Greek salad…and it was full of fresh veggies and feta cheese!! Please try the House Greek dressing, it is divine!!! I cannot wait to come back. Thank you!!

The service was fantastic. The restaurant was busy, looked like mostly takeout customers. Ordered a small meat pizza — it was good, but I don’t agree that it was the best in Alabama. I would probably go back, but not being from the area, it might not happen. The food was worth the $11, so if you’re in the mood for something other than “chain pizza”, give them a try. It’s pretty good.

Have been going to Matas for at least 25 years the last 3 times I have been I don’t know what has happened to this restaurant but they used to put a lot of cheese on their pizzas not anymore the pizza isn’t worth what you pay for it that’s what I loved about their pizza was the amount of cheese they always loaded it down with it and it was delicious.I went this Saturday and got my usual large pepperoni with a large salad and extra feta cheese the pizza was horrible dry didn’t have cheese like they usually do will not be back they have lost a long time customer. To the owner Rick you need to listen to your loyal customers I know everything has went up in price raise the prices but don’t change your food where people got used to have a loaded down melt in your mouth pizza to a dry hardly any cheese pizza.

Waited for over an hour for a pizza. I believe they gave order to someone else. Said they would do something extra for us. They did not. We paid up front and left a tip. I regret having given any tip. Should have refunded my money. Horrible service. Even one of the workers said they don’t blame us for being infuriated.

Tonight I went in Matas pizza in Anniston Al on Quintard Ave to place an order for an Italian grinder…I was sitting at the table awaiting my order…the guy that works the oven was preparing the ordered pizzas and etc. I watched him with NO gloves on! I watched him rolled up 2 floor mats, go back and forth picking up his phone out his pocket and as he was still preparing putting pizzas in boxes. He pulled my grinder out the oven and place it on the counter while touching it and preparing to cut it with NO gloves!!!!!! I told the so called Manager there that it was unexceptable for him to be preparing food with no gloves on…. They refused to make me another grinder with gloves on…. So I requested a refund…She got frustrated and ignored me to where I had to raised my voice to get her hear me….. she proclaim that the oven is HOT and if gloves are worned they will melt. I tried to explain to her that I understood that concept of the oven but when the food is out of oven and placed on the counter the gloves should be put on….. I was ignored and dismissed. Why she was giving me my refund the guy in the back ground steady running his mouth as if I had no right to complain. I hate that this happen and I hate how it was handled. Need better Management and most of All GLOVES MUST BE ON!!!!!!

It baffles me that you have a “steak no veggies” selection, you can confirm at the restaurant to someone’s face that there will be no onions or mushrooms, have that all reflected on the receipt, yet I get home and now have an inedible sandwich. Thanks for wasting my money when I did everything I could to make sure that I got the correct sandwich. Something so simple, yet is too much to ask for. To be fair, everything else in my order was good, but I believe that is because it was just a regular order. If you want anything amended from here, just don’t.

A one star is generous. You can’t compare their name versus their food Greek and Italian pizzas are wonderful. There’s nobody in the kitchen that’s Greek or Italian. They’re pushing out trash. And they’re proud of it . I grew up with Greeks in North Kingston Rhode Island. Filippo’s Pizza Wonderful wonderful pizza and subs. Winter every Friday. This is just trash. Their Greek card should be revoked
