We love AKA! Every plate is a beautiful experience. If you get multiple rolls to share they turn the serving tray into art.

Small but has a good amount of seating. We went for lunch and was quickly seated. Our server was very attentive to us and since this was our first visit he explained some of the menu items and gave us recommendations.
We had a ginger salad, soup, poke, and 2 different rolls. The salad was not cut to an appropriate size and was a struggle to eat. That’s my only criticism. The sushi was delicious and tasted like fresh ingredients. The restaurant was clean and tables were cleaned almost immediately when guests left. The prices I describe as fair, and lunch specials are offered.
I would recommend going here if you’re craving sushi

if you like crunchy rolls, both the Las Vegas one and two as well as the fire crunch roll are excellent choices. choices. if you like a warm roll that isn’t deep fried and “spicy”, the volcano roll is your best bet. the traditional rolls are also good, but if you have a flare for candy rolls these should be able to satisfy. beware of the traffic coming from the next door. Starbucks. parking has only been sparse once. staff seems to be polite and good-natured. Unless you want to go to Ann arbor, this is probably going to be your best bet for the area. The single stall bathrooms were clean. tables are pretty scarce most of the time, so expect to have to wait or sit at the counter seating. highly recommend the rolls above as well as the beef curry. they are pretty generous with the ginger dressing for their house salad.

Nice sushi place in Jackson. Food is always fresh and service has been good every time I have been there. I never have to wait long for my order as well. I wish they would bring “The sea monster” sushi roll back, but there are still other really tasty options and location is great, right off of the highway.

As a door dasher you see and hear way more than your average customer. I should not have witnessed the manager/owner tell an employee to take sauce packets out the trash. To wash off sauce that was open and contaminated the unopened sauces. Definitely think twice about ordering here! No telling what they’re told to “wash off”.

The server was great and attentive. Consistently checked on us and our food came out timely but not too fast. We started with the Gyoza and Seaweed Salad. Both were good, although the Gyoza were on the smaller side from what I’m used to at Aka. For the rolls we got Volcano 2, Crunch Vegas, and a Spicy California. All were excellent and I actually left satisfied. Rarely do I feel satisfied after leaving sushi, usually eat another meal haha. Could use some music in the dining room, was awfully quiet. Overall a 4/5 experience, best sushi around in Jackson.

The sushi was not prepared properly and it took me over 2 years to heal after eating here. Neither this restaurant nor the county Health Department were aware of how to safely prepare raw fish, and the director of the department admitted as much to me. If you also ate here and became ill afterwards, please post a review saying so too

Restaurant is a vibe! My bartender, Tommy, is the ISH! Service forward and attentive! I’m an Old Fashion kinda guy, and she makes a classic! Not from SD, I’m an LA guy, but I’ll definitely be back! 10/10 recommend!
