Mrs. Rose’s is everything hospitality should be. From the moment you walk in, you feel genuinely welcomed — not just served. The food is absolutely incredible: thoughtful, beautifully presented, and full of flavor that feels both elevated and comforting. Every detail, from the service to the atmosphere, reflects care and excellence.

The staff moves with grace, warmth, and professionalism, creating an experience that feels special without ever feeling stuffy. It’s rare to find a place where service, food, and true hospitality align so seamlessly — but Mrs. Rose’s does it effortlessly.

Mrs. Rose’s absolutely nailed it — the shrimp and grits were rich, perfectly seasoned, and full of depth. The grit spring roll was such a creative surprise, crispy on the outside and packed with flavor inside. The fresh fruit was bright and refreshing, and those cinnamon buns?

Food was great! I loved the biscuits and gravy. The portion size was huge. The inside is really cool! Our server was nice and attentive.

Tonight’s dinner was at Ms. Rose’s Fine Foods & Cocktails!

I had all of the fried foods tonight. Don’t tell my doctor.

Drink:
Palmetto Salted Lime Lager

App:
Grit Sticks
Crispy-fried pimento cheese grits with a sweet piquillo pepper jam.

Entree:
Rose’s Famous Fried Chicken
One breast, leg, and thigh with honey Tabasco sauce and a choice of one side. My side was fries.

The beer was really refreshing and needed after a busy day at work. The grit sticks were out of this world. So creamy, and the pepper jam was the perfect accompaniment. It helped balance it. The fired chicken was so crunchy in the best way. It even held its crunch after I poured some of the honey Tobasco on it, and it sat for a bit. The chicken itself was nice, juicy, and had great flavor. The bartender was great. His name was Jeff, too.

We visited Charleston on Saturday, February 21st, to celebrate my mom’s 77th birthday. After being treated very poorly at another restaurant earlier that day, I called Ms. Rose’s to see if they could possibly accommodate a large group of 25–30 people.
Assistant General Manager Becky Reeves answered the call, and from that moment on, everything changed. After I explained what had happened, she immediately told us to come in. When we arrived, we were greeted with warmth, respect, and genuine hospitality.
Our server, and the entire staff were absolutely phenomenal. The service was exceptional, the food was incredible—truly a 10/10—and the atmosphere made our entire family feel welcomed and cared for.
I cannot thank Ms. Rose’s enough for turning what began as a horrible experience into a beautiful and memorable celebration for my mom’s 77th birthday. Because of them, our family was able to laugh, enjoy great food, and make lasting memories.
We will absolutely return and will highly recommend Ms. Rose’s to anyone visiting Charleston. Thank you for going above and beyond.

Ms. Rose’s Fine Food is a treat in Charleston! The food was absolutely delicious—highly recommend the avocado burger with the gluten-free bun, which was sturdy, flavorful, and a perfect match. The meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans was another standout. Don’t leave without trying the brisket fries—mouthwatering! The restaurant is spacious, the staff is warm and welcoming, and our waitress Raven gave top-notch service with great recommendations for us first-timers. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a group of 5 for brunch. They sat us immediately. The service was good and we enjoyed the food. Coming from the west we wanted to try something different. We had the shrimp and grits, the honey and tobasco fried chicken and some other dishes. We were happy with the servings. I really enjoyed the atmosphere! I recommend this place!

I came with some friends just for a quick dinner and it was awesome! It wasn’t too busy so the food came out quick. The service was top tier- they were on point with everything and were very attentive! It was my first time coming here and I got the cornbread for my app and the crispy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. I will definitely be coming back!

GREAT food!! They advertise they won 1st Place in both southern fried chicken challenge and shrimp and grits challenge. After we sampled these on their menu, I have no doubts they won. We arrived on a Friday evening, later than normal dinner time, and got seated immediately. The waitress greeted us soon thereafter and was super friendly, explained the menu, and took our drink order. Drinks came out pretty quickly. Alcohol from the bar came out a few minutes later. The food came out pretty quickly, about 10 minutes. Everything was GREAT! The shrimp and grits were some of the best I’ve ever had. The grits themselves were outstanding, very creamy, smooth. My son got the chicken sandwich and said it was one of the best he’s had. My wife got a grilled chicken sandwich on a homemade gluten-free bun. Our other son got a Reuben, one of his favorites, and it disappeared in a few minutes so it must’ve been good. The facilities were super clean and everything looked new. Staff was great. Prices weren’t too bad and considering the quality and portions of the food, we felt it was a great value. We will visit again and recommend it to others.

Will definitely try again. I had the avocado bacon ranch burger with the plant based meat, very very good. The burger was so tall I had to eat it with a knife and fork.

We wish there were half stars because really the food is above a 3, but not quite a 4. Some of the food was great, some not so good, which gave us an uneven experience. Standouts included the excellent fried chicken (some of the best we have had in the area), delicious cornbread, and a very tasty brisket sandwich. Disappointments included stewed okra that was basically tomatoes with just a bit of okra, and flat, rather flavorless buttermilk biscuits with liquid butter (yuck).
Service was friendly and the ambiance was fine. There is a super cool room in the back of the restaurant with a wall that is decorated with all the dishware from the previous restaurant in that location. That is truly remarkable and it’s worth taking a closer look.
