Snow birds to St. Pete area and we eat here every time we come down and will continue to do so! We usually have a small wait time but no more than an 45 minutes. Everything we’ve tried here has been delicious. We got the mussels, bruschetta, three ribeyes with garlic mash and one filet. Seasoned and cooked perfectly with a nice char. Service is always great and atmosphere is nice and friendly. Also would recommend the creme brulee for dessert. Very tasty.

Food was great! Got the ribeye with sautéed spinach, crispy onions and a side of gorgonzola sauce. Very small but homey, will definitely be coming back!

We just went here because someone in the comments of another restaurant suggested it and man am I glad they did. This place is great! One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. No BS. Cooked perfectly and that sear… Folks were nice and service was great! A bit loud because it’s small but in no way did that get in the way of a wonderful meal!! We will most definitely be retuning again.

Can’t say enough great things about 1200 Chophouse.
We dined here on Sunday to celebrate a birthday, and everything was superb. Our server, Ryman, filled our time with precision and purpose, and the food was all delicious.
Some must-haves: Wine – The Barnard Griffen was a solid, affordable option. Apps – Truffle fries were excellent, but the star for me was the bruschetta. Main course – really hard to pick just one, but the sea bass was a winner-winner seafood dinner. Desert – can’t remember what it was called, but it’s the flourless chocolate with whipped cream puffs.
Thank you for a great experience, and we will be back soon.

Food was delicious. Parking was pretty hard to find. There was an outdoor waiting area that provided a server for bar drinks. There was indoor and outdoor seating for dinning. We chose inside. It was very cramped and kind of loud. We’re glad we tried it.

Food was perfect, my issue was service. Waited a few days before I posted. However, birthday dinner. Arrived 8:50, bartender said open till 10. Ordered a ribeye, it came out halfway through salad. Check arrived halfway through steak. Bar was cleaned up before I finished my drink. So no dessert just a polite get out by the bartender. For the money, I expected more.
Great wine selection, beer to be desired. Should have more based on the no liquor.
I’ll try again, but I wanted my birthday to be a bit more special. Next time I guess…

We used to come here for every special occasion dinner and always felt like it was a good decision. Recently went the day before Valentine’s Day and it was completely different. The food is still great, we just paid way too much for very small portions and came away feeling as if it wasn’t worth the price tag. If I’m paying $48 for a small steak, one roll a small scoop of potatoes…that was my mistake. Lesson learned. It’s not what it once was. Service was great as always.

My friends took us here because this is one of their favorite place. Atmosphere great, appetizers tasty, service fast and attentive, salad excellent, rolls are great, sea bass is the worst I ever ate in my life, and I order that every place they serve it. It wasn’t fresh, it wasn’t flaky, it was gummy and chewy. I ate 3 bites, and left the rest on my plate. When I mentioned that to our server all I got is a sorry. Not asking if I would like them to remake it, no offer of any compensation. Nothing. Took my plate, and got my bill. I expect more from a high end restaurant like 1200. More than a sorry.

Ordered the fillet and New York Strip, was fantastic. Came with house salad (no other choices) and baked potato or garlic mashed. They only serve wine and beer, no liquor. Inside is very small and only accommodate a small amount of guests, we were lucky enough to get 4 seats at the bar.

1200 Chophouse is a cozy gem with amazing food and exceptional service. The small building fills with the irresistible aroma of dishes coming from the kitchen, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. Our waitress was attentive and checked on us regularly.
We started with the filet skewers and fried goat cheese—both were delicious, with the house sauce on the skewers adding a bold touch. The house salad was phenomenal, easily one of the best I’ve had. For our mains, the NY Strip and filet were cooked to perfection. The Gorgonzola cream sauce on the strip and the tender filet paired with truffle fries and Gouda sauce were standout highlights.
Though we were too full for dessert, everything we tried was incredible. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. A solid 9.4/10!
