Open since 1959, the Dixie Drive-In is home of the Dixie Cheese! We are a short-order restaurant with a family-friendly atmosphere offering comfort foods like burgers, fries and homemade onion rings. This was a neat little surprise. I’m sharing a video of my favorite part of our experience at the diner. It was the staff getting along together. Everyone was respectful and encouraging to each other. They were joyful and ready to wow their customers.

I had the Greek salad and they did not skimp on the fixings. The dressing had perfect amount of spices and portion.
The burgers are reminiscent of my childhood visiting the local greasy spoon. The burger my mom had made me sad I didn’t order one for myself. The crinkle fries were plump and fresh.
There are two doors into the establishment. The door with “take out orders” over it should have been a hint, but I saw a sticker I thought that said use other door so I went in this one. The girl took my order and handed us our boxes of food. It wasn’t until we walked to the bar that I realized we could have ordered in the dining room.
There are a lot of stickers on the windows outside. I would suggest having “dining room” above one of the doors. Or, the cashier asking “is this dine in?”
I reduced a star for atmosphere and service because of the bus boy sweeping up under our feet while we were eating. He got up in between my mom’s and my bar stools with the broom. Innocent enough, very friend gentleman but still it was offputting and rude. There is also a foot bar you rest your feet on that he would clang against when he was further away that was aggravating. I would suggest a soft push broom so dust isn’t flying up while diners are there and reducing the clanging noise.

We are not from these parts and so we weren’t sure what to expect but man was this tasty. Our waitress got our orders and as a group of five I expected them to write things down. Nope, drink orders, food, all of it was taken down from memory. Family had the hot dog plate and I went with a good old fashioned cheeseburger with onion rings. Onion rings were amazing and fries were hot! The menu is extensive and I don’t think you could go wrong here. Though if you go for a salad you may be disappointed. Not because the salads were bad, but because you will regret not getting a dog or a burger . Definitely will be back when we come through town again. I hope yall stop here too! You won’t regret it.

This place has missed the mark! They use to be really good but now the food SUCKS!!!! Their slaw use to be the best around now it cabbage and vinegar and NASTY, the burger are lukewarm warm and the fries are the same. The only positive was the onion rings and that’s not to say they were great! I’m not sure if the management has changed over or what, however something has definitely changed for the worse. I will never give these folks another dime of my hard earned money for crap food like my family and I ate tonight!

Not the best place to get a burger in town. Onion rings did not have any hint of seasoning or salt, burger was mid at best (patty looked steamed and was also bland, the ketchup and sauce kind of made up for it) and the slaw is very much different (and not in a good way, really it just some mix of oil and vinegar but somehow watery). The service was also so-so.

Not as good as they were back in the day. No season on Burger and not cooked to order. Homemade sour cream nothing like the past. Just tasted like mayo no garlic powder. Need a new slaw recipe. Was full of vinegar.

We are passing through on vacation stopped in after seeing this online. Food was great overall. I had fish. It was great. Other 4 all had burgers they were good. Lil mix up on condiments on burgers but didn’t affect anything really. Fries were great, crispy just need lil seasoning. Onion rings was great. Also got a gyro. I do not recommend it.
Service was awesome. Young lady waited on us was awesome. Prices are great in today’s market. We absolutely would eat there again.

Good was disappointing. Waitress was distracted and couldn’t seem to listen to our order. She kept looking away while we were ordering then would turn back and say “huh?”. It was annoying, especially since the place was relatively empty. We got a dry bbq pork sandwich, and when we asked for extra bbq sauce they wanted to charge us for it.
