This was a fun stop! I had heard about the Purple Cow restaurants before so when we were driving through Conway tonight we decided to stop by for dinner. The restaurant is large, bright and welcoming. There was plenty of seating and even a party room to the side. We were not greeted right away as the hostess was decorated a tree and finished before she came over to seat us. She did not give us or offer a kids menu and we had to ask for one once seated. Cooper, our server, came over and got our drink orders. The menu was very large and they have additional dessert and kids menus. He did not make an recommendations or explain anything to us but he was very friendly. We ordered the signature Purple Cow Vanilla shake to drink and it was brought over in a small glass and the extras in a cold metal cup. My kids liked it but we’re disappointed it didn’t come with the cherry and whipped cream as pictured on the front of the menu. We ordered the sampler platter as an appetizer. It was large and good for sharing and came with 4 different dipping sauces. It was all heavily fried though so skip if you don’t want so much fried stuff. I will say it all tasted good and was not greasy. It included pickle spears, onion rings, potato wedges, cheese sticks, and fried mushrooms. For dinner my youngest daughter got a chili dog which she devoured. It came with homemade chips. My other daughter and I share the club sandwich and sweet potato fries. The club was great although a little dry but it came with boiled eggs which I thought was a cool twist. The sweet potato fries were OK. Very thin, no seasoning, and came with a side of honey which was interesting. I probably wouldn’t order them again. My husband got the turkey reuben on gluten free bun. I was so excited to find out they had a gluten free bun. I did not see it listed anywhere but when asked the server said it was available. The sandwich was OK he said. Very little saurkraut and onions added which was different for a reuben. The 1000 island sauce also was homemade and came on the side and looked like mayo. I don’t think it was his favorite but it was ok for him since he is so limited with his allergies. I did ask the server about pickles with the sandwiches and he said they don’t have pickles. I showed him the menu which literally says “pickles on the side ” with almost every sandwich and he just said we don’t have pickles spears (that is confusing b/c we got fried ones with our sample platter) and those are pickles slices on the side. Well, either way we did not get ANY pickles with any of our meals even after asking. When we got the check there were a lot of upcharges which I understand restaurants do but I always feel like the server should mention them and he did not mention any. Even when I ordered a chili dog for my 10 year old and asked if it was available on the kids menu he said yes but when we got the bill he charged her for an adult meal without telling us. Our sweet potato fries were a big upcharge at around $3.30 and the gluten free bun was another $2. So be aware when you are ordering. Not everything is listed or mentioned. Overall, The Purple Cow is a fun place and I would come back just for the atmosphere and cool desserts. I think the servers and kitchen need some training on what comes with items and the upcharges need to be mentioned.

Cooper was a fantastic server and took care of everything even though we showed up near closing. Food was great, purple shakes even better, and it was everything we needed after driving all day.

We should have walked out when we noticed the food in-between the booth seats, on the floor, dust on picturs, tops of booths and writing on walls from children coloring on them. The food was terrible, 6 people in our group and none of us ate more than a few bites. The two kids in our group loved the purple shake, but I mean kids love ice cream. We will not be back. We were seated immediately, waitress was pleasant. The food didn’t take long to come out, just horrible tasting. The “patty melt” should not be called that, it’s not traditional. The chili here is horrible, should be famously horrible. The fried mushrooms were super crisp and filled with oil inside. We would’ve had a better experience eating drive thru, we will not be back.

My very first time visiting and I was greeted by a lovely young man on a rainy Friday lol. The inside decor was purple and the cutest. I ordered the beyond burger. It wasn’t bad just plain and among the ordinary. I guess I was expecting more but then I realized I was near a college campus.

Thick super dry hamburger and cold French fries. The sweet tea needs tea to go with all that sugar. Nice clean restaurant. Understaffed. It wasnt busy at all but our waitress was the only waitress in the place. This is where my daughter chose to go to her birthday dinner at. Anyhow, my daughter ordered a purple cow shake with her dinner. We were already done eating by the time the waitress came back and we had to remind her of the shake. Im sorry I do not recommend the Purple Cow in Conway. Also, hard to find parking. Two stars because it was clean & my grandchild loved the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich & her orange sherbet shake. There was 6 of us that ate and only the 6 year old enjoyed her meal.

It was my son’s 12th birthday and he wanted a Purple Milkshake to end his birthday weekend so where else do you go except to the Purple Cow! This was the first time we had visited the Conway location and they did not disappoint at all. Even though it was a very busy Saturday afternoon, with lots of large groups in town, the entire staff there was keeping up with everyone and making sure that their orders were coming out fast, hot and fresh. If you are looking for something different for your burger needs, I’d highly recommend the “Five Alarm Burger”, now don’t let the name fool you. It is not something that is going to scorch your mouth so you won’t be able to taste anything else. Instead it is a great combination of spice, heat and flavor. Just make sure you have plenty of napkins because it is going to get messy. I can not remember our waitresses name, but she took care of us like we were the only ones in the place. Even making sure that the kids had all they needed. So if you are out and about in the Conway/Hendrix College area, stop on by and grab a burger and don’t forget the shake. It will be the highlight of your day.

Our favorite place to stop when traveling through! Great food, the five alarm and rodeo burgers are favorites. The Purple Milkshake is yummy. Very cute atmosphere and the area the restaurant is located is very charming. Good service, too:

First time visiting the Purple Cow. My husband and I stopped in after work and we were promptly greeted and sat. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I ordered the purple (vanilla) milkshake, it was delicious! I ordered the Firehouse knife burger and my husband ordered the rodeo burger. Both met and even exceeded our expectations! We will be back again soon!!

UPDATE: I am updating my review because the General Manager called me and is taking care of it for us. She was very courteous, and we are happy with the results.
We paid $36.+ for two glazed pecan salads with strawberries, blueberries and grilled chicken. The kitchen sent out the salads with no glazed pecans, very little of anything else except greens. When we asked about it we were told that they were out of these items. We should have at least been told that before we ordered so we could change our order.

The Purple Cow was disappointing. My daughter’s burger was so burnt that the edges of her patty were hard. The bun was also burnt and the cheese was cold and not melted at all on the burger. My chicken tenders looked like rubber meat that had been double fried with thick breading. The ketchup containers were on the table and our’s was super runny/watery with a terrible soured taste (and yes I vigorously shook the ketchup in case it had separated). I love condiments, so you very rarely hear me complain about a condiment. That’s how bad it was. The nice server did have our chicken and burger remade and it was thankfully slightly improved. My other child’s meal was a grilled chicken salad and it was good. The shake and ice cream we ordered were the best things we ate. Shake and ice cream were 5/5. It was $45+ meal and 2/3 of us left with a bad taste in our mouths and tummy aches. The restaurant was cute and looked clean and the server was kind, but the food was sadly not good at all.
