We had lunch and drinks at the Gold Cup Wine Bar located within the Salamander Resort on a couple of occasions so far during our stay. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is excellent, the service has been hit or miss. Sometimes great & and other times aggravating. The staff here needs to do a better job of making guests of the hotel feel valued.

Our dining experience did not live up to the usual high standard at this resort. Food was fine, bartender amazing, but my son’s birthday dinner here was completely ruined. After reminding our waiter twice it’s a birthday celebration meal, he still forgot to put a candle or message on our dessert. And this was after waiting for almost half an hour after the meal is finished to get the dessert served (just a bowl of ice cream), because our server keeps disappearing and we needed help from other waiters to chase him down. Yet he put a mandatory gratuity on the bill. Like the other review said they really need to bring the service level up to the rest of the hotel and restaurants.

We ordered the Mac and cheese and it was delicious. My husband and I ordered the steak and fries and it was served in a plate that looks almost like microwavable plate. It did not look pleasing and the steak tasted just ok at best. The shrimp with pecans were delicious. Salamander roll was average. Cocktails are okay. Espresso martini is above average. Margarita was okay. Overall, food is just very average at best but the price for the quality of the food was not justifiable. The resort is very nice and has great ambiance and attention to detail is obvious. I wish this restaurant could have served better tasting food considering how nice this hotel is.

We had a nice time. Service was very slow but we were enjoying the night. I don’t often write reviews but felt the need to say something.
I ordered a non alcoholic glass of wine and was charged $45 for it… for one glass.
We looked up the bottle and it was a $12 bottle of wine. Completely unacceptable. My friend had champagne and wine and neither glass was more than 31 dollars. Pretty disappointed they would charge that. I even checked with the server that was the correct price.

Top notch! is not the first time I have been to the Gold Cup but every time leaves wanting to come back over and over again. The food is exquisit, the service is an A+ and of course the atmosphere is great. We asked about the kitchen staff because the sushi was so good. Javier Alvarado within the chef team had a hand in it so I needed to congratulate him. And Samuel was a great server, so attentive, fast and courteous. I hope to see them again at the Gold Cup.

Rachel is awesome, I never had burrata so good. Fig old fashioned is too good. Very romantic place to spend some time. Love their horse artwork all over the property.

Gold cup is a great spot to have an afternoon meal, an evening drink, or even a casual dinner. The bartenders were very experienced and helpful. The menu is diverse with a lot of options, some shareable and some just for one. You can also take your drinks from the bar to the main foyer or even to the library. Very enjoyable spot right in the Salamander Resort

A decent resort bar. The cocktails look cool – especially the smoked old fashioned, which they truly smoke. There’s usually lots of room at the bar but you can take the drinks anywhere you want. Staff is also very kind and accommodating. The food is a great, more affordable alternative to the restaurant and not as fancy. I had a turkey and Gruyère sandwich that hit the spot.
