Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I give all stars because Alexis Z. She was beautiful and polite and patient with me as I ordered for my brother who wanted a Whataburger and had been recently with a stroke. I explained to Lexy what he liked and she referred me to the number #1 combo and I choose lemonade for him favorite. Today 03/22/2025 about 1:30 I ordered a #4 Jalapeño burger and asked to make sure there was plenty of jalapeño’s on the burger. When I got to my destination to eat there was 8 slices of jalapeño not even an entire jalapeño on my burger. Ever since Chicago bought Whataburger the service and amount on the burgers has gone down in quantity and quality! I have been eating Whatabutgers since I was 1 1/2 years old that’s over 57 years. And I can tell you that when the Dobson’s owned this restaurant there would have been 15-20 pieces of jalapeño on the burger, they took Customer service seriously and they made sure that if you had an issue with their product that it was solved and you knew that they appreciated your business! I can’t say that about the current corporate bullshit owners. Below is a picture for all to see!

That was the nastiest Whatachicken sandwich I’ve ever had, and quite possibly the nastiest chicken sandwich I’ve had at any restaurant. The chicken was rubbery. The lettuce was wilted. The fries were also unimpressive, because they were cold and limp and obviously cooked in really dirty oil. They couldn’t even get the drink right, because I requested easy on the ice and it was loaded to the top with ice so I was left wanting for lemonade before I was even done with my meal. Rest assured that when I come back to Port Lavaca to complete my work that I won’t be dining at this dump for lunch.

This is the worst damn Whataburger I have ever experienced.

Ordered online in store took forever. I told them we were here waiting. Took a long time. Many people who came after us got served first. Got our meal finally, not quite hot for the wait. Hey you forget the cheese we paid for. Gave us a couple of cold slices of cheese to put on our burger. This experience was not worth the over 20.00 for 2 we paid for. We are from outbound town,just visiting.

ordered two burgers took 25 minutes to make on top of that the burgers were so overcooked and when I asked about why it took long for the order, the manager Maggie rolled her eyes and walked away without answering while I was talking and they were carelessly talking about another employee badly. this was one of the worst experience in a fast food place.

Working nights so this is the only place to eat late. So my review is not based on 1 visit. Every single time the staff is more worried about chit chatting and playing around than doing their job. Be prepared to wait if you stop here. Definitely not “fast food”. Then manager will bribe you with a cookie to give it a 5 star review

I have to say, this is the WORST experience we have ever had at Whataburger! Let me start with the number reason why I am leaving this review to begin with, PATSY that took our order was absolutely RUDE from the second we placed our orders, the way she talks and the attitude behind every word that comes out of her mouth, makes me sick considering we just came back from vacation , stopped to eat good food. We ordered our food and only one meal comes out, my partner waiting until he noticed that 5-8 people already received their meals. He had to wait even longer because they messed up his food. He asked for a refund and Patsy said he cannot get a refund because they will make it. When I received my meal, Patsy literally dropped the tray of food in front of me on the table. I’m still trying to wrap the thought, How do you run out of grilled onions?? It’s 2pm!

Sometimes they mess up on the order but all you have to do is let them know and they kindly fix it. No need to cause a scene. They are great at making sure the orders are correct and fixed. And they are a nice staff. Even late at night.
