Total hidden gem! I stopped in for lunch and had the BLT and onion rings. The BLT was perfect—thick-cut, crispy bacon and fresh tomatoes that actually tasted like they came from a garden. But the onion rings? Those were the star of the show. Super crunchy and not greasy at all. You can tell this place is a local favorite. I’ll definitely be back! Rachel was super friendly and the food came out quick and Hot!
If you are from Waco you should know about this spot and if you aren’t make sure you stop in for a good meal!

This is a very mixed review- high highs and low lows.

Pros:
– eating inside means very attentive, sweet service. Your drinks are always filled and it’s a lovely neighborhood spot
– the portions are reasonable and so is the price
– love the sandwiches! Very flavorful

Cons:
– for whatever reason this is just an entirely different experience if you order online- there’s usually something missing or wrong. Maybe their ordering portal is just bad?
– it’s gotten worse over time, with smaller portions packed
– this last time they made me a salad, omitted the stuff I asked for, charged extra for olives (I get it, times are tough) which would have been fine except that the three olives given were….. not Kalamata olives. When I asked about this I was informed that these were Kalamata olives. Unless black cocktail olives are suddenly Kalamata, I don’t know why you would double down on that, especially when it was missing other ingredients listed. I would have been fine if I was just told they were out of kalamata or if they mislabeled it. But woof.

In summary: just go in person and enjoy the ambiance!!! That’s where they are strong

An truly American breakfast. I had an omelette with 3 eggs, bacon, Texan toast and potatoes. The coffee is great and refillable.

People were very polite and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to have a meal.

Our ladies group met here for coffee and Bible Study. This is such a a great place. 3 of our ladies have an October birthday and we were surprised when Chef Mike brought out chocolate covered strawberries and he and his staff sang “happy birthday”. What a blessing! We will definitely come here again. We are about to order lunch here. You need to check it out. This place is awesome!!! ❤️

The owner was friendly and welcoming. That is where that ended. I ordered French toast and over medium eggs and they were served on the same plate since she put the food down and ran away, I couldn’t ask her for anything else.

She saw me not eating when she went to a table next to mine and still walked away after taking their order.

Finally 8 minutes later I flagged her down so I could PLEASE eat my food. All I needed was a plate for the French toast. Everything tasted great except that it was cold since I was being ignored and my eggs were ruined with maple syrup and pecans.

When I finally asked for another plate she said, “for what, to go?”
Um, no, I would like to eat my food. Everything is great by the way thanks for asking!!! I will never return based on this visit.

Chef Mike was a wealth of knowledge about the Mission of the cafe and Rachel are server was quick and friendly! We will be coming back. Food is great – we had the breakfast bowl and a breakfast plate with sausage and gravy. Coffee is from Third Coast and tasty. Place is clean, with cute diner feel.

This was the most pleasant dining experience I have ever had. The food is wonderful, but the mission behind the food is far more impactful. The mission directly helps addicts and those who truly need help. We met Mike, who has been a father figure to former addicts, helping them recover and regain their lives. We met a waitress who has been sober for over two years, she’s paying for her home, and is able to support her children again. This cafe is truly a light to the world. No fancy buildings, just good food and lots of agape love.

I loved my visit to World Cup Cafe. I’m new to town – googled Best Breakfasts in Waco – and World Cup came up. It definitely lived up to the hype. The staff was super caring and attentive. The food was fantastic. I got the Huaca Hash. I will definitely be coming back. On top of the great food and service – the mission of the restaurant is very encouraging.
