Umi is a must in Spokane. I visit Spokane a few times a year and come here every time. Even gone back to back days.
Some of the best General Tso in the state and a large enough portion for leftovers. The sushi rolls are top notch and their spicy mayo is incredible. They don’t skimp on sauce.
Head downstairs to the bar for a nice view of the city and great cocktails

First time here. The place was packed but we got lucky to get in pretty quickly. Cocktails menu is great. I had 2 different cocktails and they were both delicious. We had several appetizers and rolls. The food was great as well! The server was very friendly and nice! Definitely check out this place!

Tasty sushi, was clearly busy upstairs however there was a downstairs seating area, which was nice and gave the place more space. I ordered the Alaskan Roll

Great sushi find! The fried California roll from here was the best roll I’ve ever eaten (new to sushi). The gyoza and sauce were so good, flavorful and balance. Atmosphere was modern, but cozy with quick service. We ordered a dessert roll – cream cheese with banana, mango and strawberry that was amazing. I would recommend reservations on nights or weekends, but we were seated quickly at lunch during the week. I would love to come back.

This place is super cute. Love the atmosphere and they really take advantage of the small space they have to seat as many people as they can. This leaves tight quarters but it is appreciated.
The server was so nice and gave great recommendations and was very personable. She even showed us an appetizer she recommended that another guest got as our options are limited as my friend is gluten intolerant and she was very forthcoming with the sushi options we were considering and the possibility of gluten which was so sweet!
The rolls were…fine? They were not wrapped up tight enough at all. It made for a very messy meal as they were falling apart and were not quite “bite size” which is expected with sushi.
They do have an option for an upcharge to get real crab instead of imitation crab which was amazing! First time I’ve seen this option advertised and I was thrilled…I am not a fan of fishy flavor…ironic I know.
The soft shell crab in the roll I got was so good and perfectly fried but I couldn’t hold the roll together to save my life.
My friend got the fresh roll which was my absolute favorite of the options we got. It was also loose but it was so tasty!

Do you like honey walnut prawns? THE BEST EVER is Umi Sushi in Kendall Yards. Truly, best I’ve ever had. This picture is missing the first two we ate! Loved their Sushi—we got two rolls to share. Service from Luke was top notch—thank you!

Great little place with awesome food and friendly service. I highly recommend their Las Vegas roll and add jalepenos. Pan seared gyoza was great as well. Looking forward to coming back to try more. Maybe ride our bikes and enjoy their outdoor patio with a view.

Good food, presentation was nice. Friendly service. Even on dead weekdays it’s super busy so make a reservation. Pretty loud but the restaurant can’t control that. I would not say it’s a quite romantic place. It’s a great place to get together with your sushi loving friends. Lots of options for non-sushi lovers. Honey Walnut shrimp appetizer was amazing. Bento boxes were great and enough to feed two people. Overall we loved it.

Really enjoyed this place. Super nice area in Spokane and it feels safe here. Parking is easy. The service was good and quick. Some things are a little pricey, but some things were average for sushi. The sushi was good and the noodles were so good! The octopus balls were a little mushy and I couldn’t tell if they were cooked enough. I would pass on those. I will go back again for sure.

Update: after trying another sushi restaurant in town, it is more obvious that the quality here can use some improvement. Umi is still good, but there are better quality places in town that are cheaper. Beautiful restaurant, but not enough to make us want to come back.
Came in for an early dinner with a reservation. We were kindly shown the entrance for the 21+ lounge in the basement. First glance is that it is a beautiful spot and felt immediately excited to have a meal here. We ordered sake and and appetizer of raw octopus and yellowfin. We both ordered a sushi roll to share. Everything was amazing and tasted fresh. Our waitress was super helpful with helping me decide what to order and her attentiveness. Thank you for a great evening
